Daughtry talk about the Leave This Town tour
October 19th, 2009 under Daughtry. [ Comments: none ]

L2R: Josh Paul, Josh Stelly, Chris Daughtry, Joey Barnes & Brian Craddock

Two weeks ago I interviewed Daughtry at the music video shoot for Life After You about the Leave This Town Tour that starts tonight and they told me the tour is going to be hot. When I say hot, I mean literally because they told me pyrotechnics are going to be involved. They didn’t know what that meant at the time, but they were excited with the notion of adding fire of some sort to the their tour. That’s hot!
The 5 bandmates just came off small intimate club tour that was a gift for the fans and were looking forward to adding 6 songs more to their arena tour that goes until December 20th. So you would think because they are spending so much time together that they would be sick of each other? Not the case for Josh Paul, Josh Stelly, Chris Daughtry, Joey Barnes and Brian Craddock, these five friends enjoy the time together. They told me even you wanted to separate them they would still get together to play video games and such. They later added that one of the best things to happen them since they joined Daughtry is their friendship. Something you can feel as you see them standing together.
What initially got me into Daughtry was the music, but what makes me f*cking love them so much is just how welcoming they are to anyone that comes within their way. You feel like one of their friends as soon as you say hi to them. They really like to include their fans in what they do. In fact Chris Daughtry is constantly giving away free VIP tickets the shows on his Twitter page, so you should totally follow him so that you might be able to win tickets to one of the below dates. Plus as he told me, “It’s good to keep the fans updated. Sometimes I keep them update a little too much,” so you never know what he is going to Tweet about!!!
So if you want to know if Leave This Town is coming to a town near, check out the list below. And whether or not they are coming make sure to pick up the Daughtry’s second #1 album Leave This Town, it is so addictive you won’t want to take out of your CD player or off you iPod.

Daughtry talk about Life After You
October 16th, 2009 under Daughtry. [ Comments: none ]

L2R: Josh Paul, Josh Stelly, Chris Daughtry, Joey Barnes & Brian Craddock

About two weeks I was invited to Daughtry’s music video shoot for Life After You and I got to talk to the band about the song and the video. Life After You is the follow-up single to No Surprise off the #1 album Leave This Town.
When I met up with Daughtry they were shooting the final scenes of the video in an abandoned warehouse in Downtown LA. They had been there since the early hours of that Sunday morning after a long weekend that included an event in Vegas on Friday night and a two-day music video shoot over the weekend. But standing there talking to them in a place that looked it had been used in several horror movies, you would never know that they were barely sleeping and two weeks away from starting a huge tour. What I am sure will come as No Surprise to you guys, is these 5 guys are unfazed by all the success that they have experienced in the last few years. Daughtry is the number #1 selling band in the new millennium and there is not one ego among the bunch. They are just 5 friends having a good old time doing what they love.
You can see in the above interview that they love joking around with each other and anyone that comes in their path. Even though when I spoke to them, they had only one more scene to shoot they weren’t sure how the video was going to turn out. Chris Daughtry said, “We’ve shot in a lot of different locations. A lot of different scenarios that are all suppose to bleed into the life of Daughtry basically on the road. And so as of now we are shooting it out of order. We are not really sure of how it all lines up, but it seems like it is going to work.” It all did work out and you can see the video for Life After You below to see just how well it did turn out.
Come back on Monday to hear what the guys told me about their upcoming 36-date arena tour that starts off in Kansas City that same day! And check out Chris Daughtry’s Twitter page because he is randomly giving away VIP tickets to the show!

Chris Daughtry said, “This club tour is a thank you to our loyal fans. Its a great way for them to see us up close and, more importantly, at a cheap price.” How f*cking awesome is it for Daughtry to do this especially since their last album was the #1 selling CD of the year! It is not like they have to, but they want to do it!
Here are the 13 dates for the lucky fans:

Daughtry reveals track listing for Leave This Town
June 11th, 2009 under Daughtry. [ Comments: none ]

Daughtry’s follow up to their hugely successfully debut CD will be out in just over a month, but you don’t have to wait until then for the track listing for Leave This Town!

1. You Don’t Belong
2. No Surprise
3. Every Time You Turn Around
4. Life After You
5. What I Meant to Say
6. Open Up Your Eyes
7. September
8. Ghost Of Me
9. Learn My Lesson
10. Supernatural
11. Tennessee Line
12. Call Your Name

No Surprise is already a hit and now Chris Daughtry is explaining the meaning behind it, “In it, the song’s theme of love gone wrong is expressed through the character’s relationship with the town where he lives. ‘The place you call home can cause heartbreak just like a bad relationship,’ Chris says. ‘Places change just like people change. Sometimes the best thing you can do is leave.'” He also explains that the title of the album comes from a line from the song September, “The bittersweet ballad draws on the singer’s experiences growing up with his brother in a tiny North Carolina town. ‘Every time I hear that song it takes me back to my summers in Lasker,’ he says. ‘I loved growing up there, but I knew I’d have leave to make something of my life.'”
I so can’t wait to hear this Leave This Town when it comes out on July 14th!!!

Chris Daughtry back on American Idol tonight!!!
May 6th, 2009 under Daughtry. [ Comments: none ]

Fifth season contestant Chris Daughtry is returning to the American Idol stage tonight with his rockin’ band!!! Daughtry are going to debut the first single, No Surprise (and it is No Surprise how awesome it is) from their upcoming album that is coming out on July 14th!!! The yet-to-be-titled CD is the band’s first one since the chart topping self-titled CD which was the largest selling album of the year in 2007!
The remaining four American Idols should bow down to him tonight and pray their careers are 1/100th of his because not one of them is anywhere near his caliber. Seriously when you hear him singing Styx’s Renegade when he was on the show, you can really see and hear that not one of them last night was even near his awesomeness. Especially my fave Kris Allen and the need to Go Danny Gokey who also sang that song as a duet. How painful was that. BTW I am convinced it was Gokey’s version of Dream On that brought down the Idol set that injured a stage manager. That was GA.
Here is a positive note for the person that is eliminated tonight, Chris Daughtry also went out 4th when he was the show! And we all know how that turned out for him!!!
