Chris Daughtry back on American Idol tonight!!!

Fifth season contestant Chris Daughtry is returning to the American Idol stage tonight with his rockin’ band!!! Daughtry are going to debut the first single, No Surprise (and it is No Surprise how awesome it is) from their upcoming album that is coming out on July 14th!!! The yet-to-be-titled CD is the band’s first one since the chart topping self-titled CD which was the largest selling album of the year in 2007!
The remaining four American Idols should bow down to him tonight and pray their careers are 1/100th of his because not one of them is anywhere near his caliber. Seriously when you hear him singing Styx’s Renegade when he was on the show, you can really see and hear that not one of them last night was even near his awesomeness. Especially my fave Kris Allen and the need to Go Danny Gokey who also sang that song as a duet. How painful was that. BTW I am convinced it was Gokey’s version of Dream On that brought down the Idol set that injured a stage manager. That was GA.
Here is a positive note for the person that is eliminated tonight, Chris Daughtry also went out 4th when he was the show! And we all know how that turned out for him!!!

"American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry will perform a free concert in downtown Greensboro on March 23. Greensboro Coliseum officials organized the show as a prelude to the NCAA women's basketball tournament games on March 24 and 26, and they hope the concert helps the city's bid to host the 2012 women's Final Four. Between 6,000 and 7,000 people are expected to attend the concert. Over the past year, Daughtry, 27, has gone from a local musician based in nearby McLeansville to a fourth-place "Idol" finish and a top-selling album. Daughtry's band, called Daughtry, released their self-titled debut album on Nov. 21. "Daughtry," released on Sony BMG's RCA label, has sold nearly 1.3 million copies and hit No. 1 this week on the strength of its first single, "It's Not Over." The cost for the concert wasn't released, and organizers said it's in flux. They expect to recoup most of the cost through concession sales and sponsorships.

He really has taken to his new found fame by givng back…unlike the winner who is suing the people who helped him when he was a no one.

Chris Daughtry thanks his fans!!!

Hey y’all. I know it’ been a long time since I’ve posted so I think it’s about time. Been very busy as you know. I’m in Charlotte, NC now gettin’ ready for the Southern Sports Awards…I had never heard of it either…til recently. It’s being filmed tonight and aired on a different date. Check the site for local times and listings. I really just want to let you all know how soooooooo grateful I am for every single one of you that bought or are going to buy the album and continue to get the word out. It has obviously paid off. I had high hopes but never expected the first week to be soooo amazing. Not to mention being the first ever to come from american idol and be played on rock radio. That’s quite an honor for me. YOU made it happen. I wish I could hug all of you…or give you a high five…whatever you’re into. Basically I don’t feel that there’s any amount of words to express how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. You’ve really put me on the map in the music world in a big way. I realize that it doesn’t matter how good you are, if the people don’t want to hear it, it means absolutely nothing. So as long as y’all want it, we’re gonna give all we have. We’re still getting all the details on when and where we’re touring. Nothing is set in stone yet, so I’ll keep ya posted on that. The video is still getting worked on to be just right. Thanks for being patient. Oh yeah, the idea of getting the albums over seas to the troops…brilliant. That means so much. That’s all I have for now. Love all of you. God bless-Chris

The beginning of the holiday shopping season, post-Thanksgiving, boosted album sales all around (36% above last week’s total sales) and generated some good individual numbers. The best was Jay-Z’s 680,000 for Kingdom Come, his best sales week ever, although below earlier projections. The debut album by Daughtry, headed by American Idol’s No. 4 finisher, Chris Daughtry, comes in at No. 2 with 304,000, the best first-week total for an Idol so far this year. Now 23 was third, followed by The Beatles’ remix album, LOVE, with 272,000 sold, and Snoop Dogg’s Blue Carpet Treatment at No. 5 with 264,000. The rest of the top 10 is Beyonce, Hannah Montana, Akon, the debut of 2Pac’s Pac’s Life, and Keith Urban. More detail and still more fascinating facts follow.

Listen Up

Good for him I knew he was going to be the biggest seller from this group of American Idols! Well I know Taylor and McPriss are not out yet, but both their albums were delayed. Hicks by a week and McPriss by over a month. It is never a good sign when they delay an album. Go Chris, you deserve this man!!!
