Jimmy Kimmel tries to get Craig Ferguson to keep his job!
November 8th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 18:00 in)

Jimmy Kimmel was a guest on The Late Late Show yesterday and the ABC late night host finally got it out of the CBS late night host why he is leaving the show. Basically, Craig Ferguson has had enough and felt it was time to move on. Something Kimmel couldn’t understand at first; but then he remembered when he was doing The Man Show and wasn’t excited to see naked ladies at the Playboy Mansion and realized it was time to move on. On that note, Kimmel also talked about his penis being his prized possession. And on that note, Jimmy tried to buy Craig’s prized possessions, Geoff Petersen and Secretariat, but Ferguson said they are coming with him. Although, if the Robot sidekick had his way, he would switch late night shows. I am going to miss him, maybe Craig can lend him out when Guillermo is on vacation?
Another thing Kimmel interrogated Ferguson about, is why does he rip up the index cards at the start of each interview? Basically, he doesn’t know why.
All in all, it was a great chat between two awesome late night hosts.

Jay Leno will be Craig Ferguson’s last guest!
November 6th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson. [ Comments: 1 ]

CBS announced who will be Craig Ferguson’s last guests on The Late Late Show and his final one is going to be Jay Leno on December 19th. While the former Tonight Show host will be last person to speak with Craig, several of the regulars will be on the show to say goodbye to him. We will see Betty White, Henry Winkler, Carrie Fisher who gave him the kangaroo balls, Mary McCormack who gave him the rattlesnake mug, Kristen Bell and his former co-star Drew Carey to name a few. The only people missing from the final month are Denis Leary and Steven Wright, but I am sure they will find a way to be on the show somehow. At least I hope they do.

CBS hired some guy named James Corden for The Late Late Show
September 8th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson, James Corden. [ Comments: none ]

CBS has had months to find the perfect replacement for a host to replace Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show and all they came up with is some British guy named, James Corden.
CBS could’ve broken the late night mold and had a nonwhite male or female host the show, but instead they went with a British white male. It didn’t work with Craig (who’s Scottish), why do they think it is going to work with him? At least Craig was on The Drew Carey Show, so we knew him on TV. We don’t know this guy. Why are we going to tune in?
CBS had the chance to take over late night with Stephen Colbert, but Corden is not going to do that for them. I don’t think people even know that CBS has a Late Late Show, and he isn’t going to help them find it.
I wish I could be more optimistic about him, but at this time there’s no reason.
If I were CBS, I’d have him guest star on all of their sitcoms starting now. Because without any exposure, he will do worse than Craig and Craig isn’t doing that well. He’s the lowest rated late night host and I foresee Corden getting those same numbers.
I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

CBS hasn’t decided what do to with The Late Late Show yet
July 17th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson. [ Comments: none ]

Today is the CBS TCA Summer Press Day and Chairman, CBS Entertainment, Nina Tassler was asked about the future of their network’s late night talk shows.
As we know, David Letterman is retiring some time next year and Stephen Colbert will be taking over the show. Not only is Dave leaving, but so is Craig Ferguson, who hosts The Late Late Show, at the end of the year.
Up until today that is all we knew. When it comes to The Late Show, as this point CBS does not have a start date for Colbert who’s still hosting his Comedy Central show. The network and him have had some discussions about what he wants to do with the show, but nothing is near being finalized. Tassler said that the two of them will start meeting next month to iron out the rough spots.
Now what about the show that airs at 12:35p? As of now everything is up in the air including the format of it. Tassler said, “There is certainly a knee-jerk reaction to go for a more traditional sort of behind-the-desk interview format, but who knows.” In fact, not only do they not know what type of show they want, they are also not sure what type of host they desire to fill the spot. She admitted not only are they looking at comedians, they are also looking at the political word for someone to sit in that hot seat.
At this point they are keeping a very open mind, and they want to make sure they make the right decision. They made the right decision with Colbert, and I hope they make the right decision for the show that will follow his show.
I tell you, I wouldn’t mind if they did a variety show at 12:35p. I just hope they keep it on the lighter side of things and don’t go political. That is what Jon Stewart is for. What would you like to see happen with that timeslot?

Does David Letterman even know who Craig Ferguson is?
April 30th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson, David Letterman. [ Comments: none ]

Even though David Letterman has been tossing to Craig Ferguson for over 9 years and co-produces The Late Late Show; it didn’t seem like he knew he was when he told his audience that Craig was leaving the LLS. The Late Show host pretty much read from a cue card as he told the news and that makes me wonder why? Was it because he wanted to express his words properly, but that was a pretty cut and dry statement. Did CBS write the script for him? Or did he not know who the man who follows him is? Whatever the reason I think it was very awkward. Didn’t you find it a little strange too?
What I found ironic about it, is his announcement about Craig is completely opposite of the LLS host. Ferguson always rips up his cue cards before a guest comes out to talk to him. Just an observation.
