David Letterman does a Joan Rivers to Joan Rivers
July 8th, 2014 under David Letterman, The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. [ Comments: 1 ]

Joan Rivers is on The Late Show tonight, and David Letterman asked her about the recent interview she did with CNN where she walked while filming it. After they CBS host and the comedian were done talking about it, they changed topics. I guess she said something he didn’t like because he got up and walked out. In other words, he did a Joan Rivers to Joan Rivers.
Which actually was a good thing because she told a dirty dirty joke that actually made me laugh really hard. It is also a good thing Dave wasn’t in the room at the time because who knows what hearing that word, coming out of her mouth, on his show, would’ve done to him.
Finally, if you think he really walked out on her, you are wrong. If he could sit through Joaquin Phoenix the whole time during that infamous interview and never leave, then why would he do it to an old old friend?

Joan Rivers can dish it, but she can’t take it
July 5th, 2014 under The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Joan Rivers was being interviewed by CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield, and the comedian wasn’t happy with it, so she got up and walked out.Rivers has made a career making fun of people, but if you call her on that, it seems like she will get up and walk away.
When Fredricka asked her about being mean on Fashion Police, Rivers said she’s making fun of their clothes and not the person in them. Then Joan explained, the celebrities whose threads she goes off on are in a different bracket and don’t care what she says because they make millions of dollars.
When that line of questioning wasn’t working out, the anchor took it in a different direction. She then asked Joan about the fur coat she’s wearing on the cover of her new book. Joan responded by calling the host a hypocrite because she’s wearing leather shoes. Which I think was Joan deferring from that line of questioning.
Finally when Whitfield asked her about hearing those type of comments at press conferences, Joan had enough, got up and walked away from what she considered a negative interview.
And here, I was thinking she was in one of those brackets of the people’s who clothes she makes fun of. So shouldn’t she just sit there, grin and bear it? I mean, she is so quick dish it, and even quicker not to take it. Which I personally find very hypocritical.
Now, when it comes to Whitfield, how annoying was her fake smile and laugh throughout the whole interview. Maybe Joan was correct about her not being the right person to interview someone who does “humor” for a living.

Did Joan Rivers look in the mirror?
May 21st, 2014 under The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. [ Comments: none ]

Getty Images captured Joan Rivers at the Larger Than Life Gala looking like this, and in my mind I am imagining why she made that face. The one image that stands out the most, is she finally got a glimpse of her face in the mirror. Why do you think she has that expression on her face?

I actually agree with Joan Rivers on something
April 18th, 2014 under Bravo, Gwyneth Paltrow, The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. [ Comments: none ]

I normally don’t agree with the stuff that comes out of Joan Rivers’ mouth, but I agreed with what she said about Gwyneth Paltrow on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. Rivers was asked by a viewer, what was the worse backlash that she has received for anything she has said on her show, Fashion Police. She made some faces as she told her, “The worst criticism was from Gwyneth Paltrow.” Then she added, “She came and yelled at us. She stood up. She can’t sit down because she has a stick up her rear end.” If ever that joke worked, that was it.
No word how Paltrow responded to slam, but I am sure the stick and her will not be Conscious Uncoupling anytime soon after hearing what Joan said.

Do Joan Rivers and Robert De Niro have something to tell us?
February 19th, 2014 under Do they have something to tell us?, Robert De Niro, The Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. [ Comments: none ]

Joan Rivers Tweeted these pictures of Robert De Niro and her from Monday’s premiere of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and I have to wonder if they have something to tell us? Nope, but she wishes they did because she said this, “If Bobby De Niro only knew about my secret crush on him. (Don’t tell his very chic wife!)” with the photos. Could you imagine if they ever did have something to tell us? Let’s not and say that we did.
