Cobra Kai is back with even more kicks than the Rockettes do all Christmas
August 16th, 2022 under Billy Zabka, Harold and Kumar, Ralph Macchio. [ Comments: none ]

Cobra Kai’s 5th season is going to premiere on September 9th, and today we got the first full trailer. After watching it, I need a nap. And if I am feeling that way after a less than three-minute preview, how am I going to feel after watching the whole season?

Especially since it looks exciting. What can we expect? Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.

That and a lot of fighting!

I am going to rest up over the next few weeks so that I can binge it all in one day. Then I will sleep until Halloween.

BTWF: Ralph Macchio for Bubble Yum
June 20th, 2022 under Before They Were Famous, Ralph Macchio. [ Comments: none ]

Before Ralph Macchio was all wax on, wax off for Karate Kid, he was all bend to the left, bend to the right for Bubble Yum. He looks the same now as he did when he was 17 in that 1980 commercial.

Cobra Kai is playing with fire for season 5
May 6th, 2022 under Billy Zabka, Netflix, Ralph Macchio. [ Comments: none ]

Netflix released a teaser for Cobra Kai’s 5th season, and it is going to be hot, hot, hot. That is because Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), who is building Cobra Kai Dojos all of the San Fernando Valley, says he is fire. And Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), who is Danny LaRusso’s (Ralph Macchio) archnemesis turned compatriot, says he is gasoline.

The two rivals are going to go head-to-head, and only one of them will be victorious. Will it be the good guys or the villains? With this series, you never know because we have wound up rooting for the bad ones when they went good.

And that is just one of the many reasons why we love the Karate Kid sequel so much. So mark your calendars because season 5 starts streaming on September 9th.

And my prediction is that the season is going to end in a blaze of glory. As in their final fight will lead to a fire burning down what was Johnny Lawrence’s (Billy Zabka) original Cobra Kai. Burn baby, burn.

Ralph Macchio is waxing off about his time as the Karate Kid
March 23rd, 2022 under Ralph Macchio. [ Comments: none ]

For almost 40 years, Ralph Macchio is as known for playing Daniel Larusso as he is as ownself. Therefore, the actor is releasing a memoir called Waxing On: The Karate Kid and Me on October 18th.

Macchio, who wrote the autobiography while filming Cobra Kai, told People, “It was quite an emotional journey diving into the memories and experiences of getting the role and the making of the original film; my relationships with the extraordinary filmmakers and castmates. The magic of Mr. Miyagi.”

It should be a thrilling read, and he talks about the role that he just can’t escape in a good way. Too bad he is not talking about his other projects like The Outsiders, Crossroads, and My Cousin Vinny, to name a few.

I need some sage after watching the intense Cobra Kai S4 trailer
December 9th, 2021 under Billy Zabka, Netflix, Ralph Macchio. [ Comments: none ]

Cobra Kai is back for its fourth season on New Year’s Eve, and we are going to be drinking long before the ball goes down at midnight. That is because this is going to be an intense season, and we will spend the day binging it.

This season we are going to see Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (Billy Zabka) end their rivalry to take down Cobra Kai. How long can the two enemies get along?

Then again, they have a common enemy in Kreese (Martin Kove), who is teaming up with Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). Is that going to keep LaRence motivated to work together peacefully so that they can destroy their arch-nemesis in the All-Valley Karate Tournament?

If that is not enough, there are still their students who have to compete? There is going to be a lot of chops, but will there be peace? Highly unlikely, and that is why we can’t stop watching and loving this show.
