Yesterday, Drew Barrymore announced that she will be returning to her talk show even though the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are still going on.
Today, The Hollywood Reporter says that CBS’s other daytime talk show, The Talk, will also start airing new episodes next week.
However, it is not known if all of the hosts, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Sheryl Underwood, Jerry O’Connell & Natalie Morales, will be back on the set. O’Connell has been seen walking the line every week since the strike started.
In fact, The Talk was the only daytime talk show to honor the Writers’ strike and stop filming new episodes in May.
Part of the reason why that is the case is because they go live while the other talk shows tape in advance. So, Jennifer Hudson and Sherri Shepherd will begin taping this week so that their shows can start airing next week.
There is only one daytime talk show whose fate is still up in the air, and that is The Kelly Clarkson Show. The singer left LA at the end of last season for NYC.
While SAG-AFTRA has cleared their talent for talk shows, WGA has not cleared Barrymore, The Talk, The View, Clarkson, and Hudson, who use WGA writers. Live with Kelly and Mark, Tamron Hall, and Sherri do not use WGA writers.
I really hope and pray that AMPTP comes back to the table ASAP because they are not only hurting the actors and the writers, but they are also hurting those who work on the television shows and movies, along with the businesses near the studios. These extremely rich assholes will rot in hell. And the only positive thing about that is they can’t take their money with them. So they will be poor and in hell. And that sounds OK to me.

Yesterday, when she was on The Talk, Akbar Gbajabiamila said that the two of them go back to when she appeared on American Ninja Warrior: Celebrity Edition in 2017.
Akbar told the actress that she crushed that course. And then she let him in on a little secret. During the rehearsals for that episode, she broke her knee. So she competed with a broken knee and didn’t even know it for six weeks.
If that is not badass enough, she was also breastfeeding at the time.
She is at the top of my list of people not to mess with. Not that this Swimfan was thinking about doing it, but I definitely wouldn’t do it now.
It has been over 35 years since we met Ferris Buller (Matthew Broderick) and his friend Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck), and audiences of all ages still love watching their day off.
So what makes their movie so magical? Yesterday when Ruck was on The Talk, he shared his theory. “It is about friendship and generosity,” he said. “Cause here’s this guy. You know, he is almost a con man. And he has the whole school wired. He can take the day off and spend it with his gorgeous girlfriend. But who does he call up? His mopey friend, to show him a good time. You know, and pull him out of his shells. So I think that is a large part of it.”
Now that he said that, it all makes sense.
I don’t know about you, but I was always Team Cameron. And I love that he still moves and talks just like his character did. There was something about the way he does that that just attracted me to him. I just wanted to hug him and tell him everything is going to be OK.
However, when it comes to the TV series, I was so Team Ferris!
This week, in honor of The Young and The Restless’ 50th anniversary, The Talk is having different cast members on the show. Today, they had Camryn Grimes, Bryton James, Michael Graziadei, and Christel Khalil on, and Graziadei had a surprise for the CBS talk show and, more importantly, Lauren Carey, his girlfriend.
That is because he wanted to ask the mother of his twin boys, Oliver and Arlo, 18 months, something, so he called her up to the stage. “This is my beautiful girlfriend, Lauren [Carey]. We’ve spent the better half of 10 years together, too many. She’s given me beautiful twins, and I just wanted to do something special for your birthday. So I was thinking, you know, how there is no one on this earth that I would rather grow old and die with. So, I was wondering, Lauren Michelle Carey, if you would marry me?”
What did she say? She said yes! Because what else do you say when you are on national television? Well, that and she loves her baby daddy! Even though she never thought it would happen.
What was going through his mind after she said yes? He told Sherl Underwood, “I really have to pee!”
I have some advice for him. He better make sure to go to the bathroom before he gets to the altar on his wedding day. Because he doesn’t want to end his first kiss with a piss!

Since the comedian admitted that on The Talk and not her old show The Real, we did not get the answer. But she wouldn’t admit that without such a massive smile on her face unless she did!
