Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe says he has not seen any of the Internet pictures, and only learned of the sexually explicit shots from EW. & We have really good background checks on everybody, and we deal with that every season, he says. & Its sad, isnt it, that your best friends are the ones that come forward with information that will go to Smoking Gun or put your photographs on the web?

I think they will get rid of her, but it will be interesting to see what happens with her. Personally the pictures were done on her own time and not sold to anyone for profit (before she was on American Idol) and I think she should stay. What do you think?

When Reality TV goes too far… |

Sky Travel is to air a reality TV show which sees six unsuspecting Brits being arrested for the "murder" of Brigitte Nielsen. Producers recruited contestants by placing an advert in a magazine which invited members of the public to take part in a Greek sailing documentary. They were in fact being set up for the show, titled Killing Brigitte Nielsen. The six participants were joined by four actors on the boat, which had been filled with hidden cameras. The drama started when the boat "crashed" into a yacht being used by Brigitte. Contestants then watched in horror as they saw drug traffickers storm the boat and "kill" the actress. Actors dressed as Greek police then took the participants off to jail, where they were interrogated for seven hours. "It is based on managing someone’s entire reality – like The Truman Show movie," producer Alki David explained. "We never made anybody feel they were in any personal danger. "We played back the contestants' audition tapes to psychologists to ensure they wouldn't crack. And the jail cells were always unlocked." A female contestant is believed to have threatened legal action against producers. The show airs on March 19.

That is just sick. It is one thing to say you are going on a reality show to find love and the guy turns out to be Flavor Flav. It is another to think to pretend to kill someone right in front of them and then put them in jail. I hope people boycott this show, so producers will learn there needs to be a limit to what can be done with Reality TV.

Are all of The Jacksons (minus LaToya) planning a tour? |
February 23rd, 2007 under The Jacksons. [ Comments: 2 ]

It had to happen eventually: With no work coming his way, Michael Jackson, sources say, has agreed to do a tour with sister Janet and his brothers. I'm told that Michael reluctantly met with his siblings on Monday in Las Vegas. Sisters Janet and Rebbie, as well as Jermaine, Randy, Marlon, Tito and Jackie, all knocked on Jackson's Las Vegas door around 7:30 p.m. Nanny Grace Rwaramba, who runs the door, made them wait between 30 and 60 minutes before allowing the brood in. What was discussed was the family's financial situation and the fact that Jackson has so far been unable to get work in Vegas. Sources say concert promoter Leonard Rowe of Atlanta, who worked with the Jacksons in the 1980s, was there and made a proposal: a family tour with all members. A successful Jackson family tour could change all that for Michael. It would also be a financial boon to a family that needs cash in a hurry. Jackson recently took a new mortgage on his parents' home, and his own home — the Neverland Valley Ranch — is in hoc to the tune of $25 million. Jackson himself relies on cash from royalties on his own songs. But that only comes to a maximum of $7 million a year. As described in court testimony, Jackson could go through that kind of money in just a couple of weeks. The tour idea also works for Janet Jackson, whose last two albums have been huge duds. The idea of Michael and Janet performing a couple of duets, or Janet's brothers backing her on her own hits, would be a tantalizing notion to any promoter.

Wow! That would be amazing but I doubt it will ever happen.
