Yesterday Extra was interviewing Julia Roberts and they asked if she would do Pretty Woman 2
She said, "No one wants to see an old hooker!" Julia exclaimed, "Do they?"
We don't! This is one of those movies that if you are going to do a sequel, you have to do with a new cast. Unless she plays the madame and one her girls is the new Pretty Woman.
Looking at this photo of Julia reminded me of what I’ve been thinking about lots of aging beauties lately: Wearing young hairstyles and clothing makes middle-aged women look even older!
A woman in her twenties could get away with ‘free hanging’ hair like that, but Julia is starting to get a bit older, and has lost some of her “dewy youth”, and I feel she’d look better with more styled look appropriate to her age. I’m not talking about a fuddy-duddy frumpy housewife hairstyle, just a bit more styled.
Brooke Shields is no longer young, and although she’s kept her long hair, it’s styled, and she looks great. Same with Andie McDowell, when her hair is styled (sometimes it’s not, and she looks older then).
But Julia’s not so old that she couldn’t do a hooker role, as long as she didn’t come off as a woman desperately trying to hang onto a youthful appearance, which has the opposite effect.
