[ # ] A Kitchen Nightmares update
April 8th, 2008 under Fox

One of the restaurants featured on Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares was Sebastian’s. The owner refused to take Gordon Ramsey’s advice and went back to the menu that Gordon said wasn’t working for him. Well yesterday I drove by Sebastian’s and it is no longer there. There was a new Italian restaurant in its place, the third Italian restaurant in that spot in that 7 years.
So I guess long story, Gordon was right.
BTW I am going to make my friend try the new place with me and I will let you know how it is. Sebastian’s wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good enough for me to go to a second time.

I read about this not too long ago. Sebastian closed the place, packed and left to Boston back in January, while the place was closed for holidays (I guess he left his employees wondering).

He has come across as a very arrogant and uneducated man, insulting Ramsey in many forums, and even insulting or threatening people who wrote to him and dared to say what they felt about the episode and the way he had acted.

Sebastian claims he is in serious negotiations with a TV station in New England to host some sort of gastronomic reality show.

Now that’s something I won’t watch!

Sooo many of the people Ramsay works with on that show are like that: defensive, angry, terrified control freaks. I know it goes with the workaholic territory, and that Ramsay’s confrontational and insulting communication style with them is probably really triggering, but why would they even have someone come on the show if they weren’t desperate and ready to try serious changes?

I mean why would they have someone FROM the show come to their restaurant if they weren’t willing to change. Not “why does the show not screen for crazy,” although you’d think that might help.

Sebastian’s a douche bag.

I just watched the rerun tonight, and I really feel bad for the employees, who looked like they were enjoying the streamlined menu AND better tasting entrees. I’m not surprised the place folded up shop, and for Sebast to skip town over the holidays and leave his staff hanging is such a wussy cowardly thing to do. He should be happy that his wife has so much money to waste on his “20 different flavor combinations” dream!

I saw the show on BBC America, I watched this show 4 or 5 times. I could not believe this moron Sebastian. One thing though I will tell you he will be back at home in Mass. He will have no problem opening a restaurant in New England, those people don’t know good food. I will not eat out in restaurants in New England because so many of the owners of the restaurants are just as obnoxois as Sebastian. There is already Sebastians in Boston, it is owned by Fidelity. When I worked for Fidelity I called the Board of Health because they would leave milk out in July without refridgeration. That must be Sebastion’s father or grandfather.

I am opening a new pizzaria in Lexington Ma. I will be using my special concept menu and am certain of franchise interest for my future. Ramsey taught me one thing and that is this, Sebastian’s is a cool name that will sell all by itself. That’s why he had me on his stupid little show. To try and get his ratings up.

Sebastian you’re a fucking retard.

[ # 350518 ] Comment from Ramsay is hot [September 2, 2009, 8:41 pm]

Sebastian if you think Ramsay needed you for anything you are nuts! And as for that 31 flavors concept or whatever it was ~ it stunk!

Your menu once again will be too convoluted too understand that it will require customers to bring their own decoding devise with them. After the waste of mental energy and agony of trying to figure out your menu customers will then be rewarded by you popping some frozen concoction into a microwave. You will then turn around and charge them for something they could have brought in the frozen food section of their local grocery store. It must be great to go through life failing and have others pay for that failure. Your wife is subsidizing your delusional behavior.

Yes Sebastian, open up another restaurant that will flop as bad as the last one. One of these days maybe your wife will wake up and have as much faith in you as Gordon did?

What a phucktard you are Sebastard. I feel sorry for the woman who decided to marry and have children by you… Gross.

I’m from Lexington, MA. NO WAY that place will survive in that town haha. People don’t want to wait for crappy food. I’ve seen so many restaurants try and fail in that town. Even major chain restaurants in the downtown center. can’t wait to see how long this lasts if it even opens (which I have seen no signs of) I give it 3 months.

[ # 374235 ] Comment from Sebastian is the reason for Prozac [November 16, 2009, 5:13 pm]

I just watched the episode of Kitchen Nightmares featuring “Sebastian’s”. I could not believe this guy was for real. I am praying that his wife takes the kids and RUNS before they grow up as neurotic and self-deluded and opinionated as their dad. Or, that DFS steps in and rescues them.

As for the employees, I kept thinking the whole time how sorry that I felt for them. I seriously doubt he would EVER have made it the time he had without the manager and the crew pulling his weight for them.

I am not at all surprised to find he ran like a freaking COWARD and left them hanging after all they did for him. I only hope they found better employment…but I’m pretty sure that any job after was a huge step up!

Sebastian: Your menu sucks, your ideas suck and YOU ARE NOT A CHEF!! ANYONE CAN COOK FROZEN PREPARED FOOD, YOU MORON!!

[ # 377240 ] Comment from Nikki B [December 5, 2009, 10:42 am]

I saw this episode recently and out of curiosity went to google how it did. Hilariously, when I typed in “Sebastians” and “kitchen nightmare” it suggested ‘closed’ and ’sucks’ as endings of the search query.

Sebastian is absolutely as Chef Ramsay put it- a fake chef. Him and his frozen crap on a plate are a joke and an utter disgrace to the culinary industry.

A few ideas- before taking another 300k and living off of his wife, he needs to get himself into culinary school and learn to actually cook. Bringing in food from Sysco and reheating it in a microwave or dumping it into a fryer is not cooking. Anyone can microwave a freaking pizza or jar of sauce, even a four year old. I can always tell who has never been professionally trained when I watch Kitchen Nightmares, because true professionals don’t cry like little babies when they’re told the truth, nor do they call their mommy and whine that the Michelin-rated chef is trying to knock some sense into their fat head.

Stop bragging about how your pizzas are going to be in supermarkets if you ever want to be taken seriously or be respected- it’s absolutely pathetic to aspire to sell crappy cardboardesque pizza for a dollar a pop at Stop and Shop.

Another hint: in this industry, all you have at the end of the day is your integrity. You’re a sack of crap Sebastian for not only lying about your food (and it’s lack of quality), but for ditching your kitchen staff that picked up the slack from your lazy self and kept your sorry excuse for a ‘restaurant’ afloat for a lot longer than it would have been otherwise. Way to hang them out to dry after all they did for you.

At the root of this, I think your bluster and bullcrap comes down to the fact that underneath it all, you know you’re not a chef and you know your cooking sucks. I hope to god your wife is not moronic enough to fund your next venture. Maybe if you have to save to fund your own ideas you’ll take an iota more of pride in your ‘work’.

My goodness, I just watched this episode on BBC America. Is Sebastian on crack? I’m not surprised that his restaurant closed. How can anyone be this stubborn and sick? Zapping food in microwave at a restaurant? how is that cooking? What a moron….he should not be allowed to reproduce…

[ # 381924 ] Comment from totalfailure [January 24, 2010, 12:34 am]

the saddest part was finding out that sebastian thought he was some kind of actor and had a future in hollywood. he’s a fat, balding middle aged man - sorry dude, get serious in your business because you’re not going to make it in the talkies

[ # 382207 ] Comment from GORDONESQUE [January 26, 2010, 11:09 am]

Let’s see Gordon Ramsay: owns/ operates 16 successful restaraunts on several continents. Sebastian “last name not important: Delusional wannabe who couldn’t succesfully operate one restaraunt.

Yeah, Gordon really needed your help didn’t he? You sad sack of shit.

[ # 383336 ] Comment from sebastian [February 7, 2010, 4:36 am]

I cannot believe people come on these forums and pretend they are me. I am the real Sebastian and since the airing of this show I have gained 60 pounds and started competitive eating…. Maybe I cant run a restaurant, but at least I can eat 50 hot dogs in 15 minutes.

Im coming for you Kobayashi!!!
