[ # ] Katy Perry says that American Idol is ‘all about the contestants’
October 4th, 2017 under American Idol 9+

Katy Perry, who seems to make everything about her, said on Good Morning America today that the upcoming season of American Idol on ABC is “all about the contestants.” Then she elaborated by saying, “We [Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie] are secondary. We’re just there to kind of support. And we truly want to find someone that we can give a lift off to and give a name.”

She says that now, after one whole day of auditions. But we are talking about the California Gurl and I am sure by next week, she will be back to it being about her. I mean, why else would she take a $25 paycheck if she really wanted to foster the next singing star’s career? But that is just my thought.

I also think that the three of them are lacking chemistry, but that is what happens when you finalize the judges just days before you begin filming. What made American Idol work with Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson was their chemistry. Once they started messing with that, the show went down hill. And it tanked the year they put enemies Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj at the table together. Without them playing off of each other, there are going to have a hard time finding an audience.

Did you feel that they are harmonizing or they are acting like three solo acts during this interview? Seems like we will get a definitive answer sometime after the Oscars because that is rumor when the new American Idol is set to debut.
