[ # ] What’s coming up for The Simpsons this season?
August 22nd, 2014 under The Simpsons

In honor of FXX airing all 552 episodes of The Simpsons as we speak, here is a preview of what’s coming up on episode 553 and so on!
Recently I was on a conference call with Executive Producers, Al Jean and Matt Selman, and they told us what’s coming up for season 26.
As we know, there will be a death on the season premiere, September 28th on Fox, but we don’t know who is going to be. The first hint from Jean is the person who won’t make it to the credits is “portrayed by an actor who won an Emmy for playing that character.” Which isn’t much of one because all the lead voices have won at least an Emmy. Another clue is an outlet described the character as “iconic”, but Jean said the character is “great”. Here’s the last one for now, the name of the episode is “Clown in the Dumps”. Do you know who it is?
There will also be some crossover action coming up and it is with a show that been cancelled. Get ready for Simpsorama, that’s right Futurama is coming to Springfield.
Springfield will also take on fracking sometime in the fall, but as of the call, they didn’t know when it is going to air.
Also in the fall, we are getting a new Treehouse of Horrors episode. Jean said it is their “most ambitious Stanley Kubrick parody we’ve ever done”. The basis of it is said to be Clockwork Orange with a little Eyes Wide Shut mixed in. I am sure not the sex part, but the other parts of the horrible Tom Cruise movie. The episode will also feature a “satire of The Others, where there’s a family that’s very familiar that’s haunting the Simpson house.” The last tale is the scariest one of them all; Bart goes to private school…and thrives.
Talking about school, Bart gets a new teacher who is the opposite of the late great Mrs Krabapple. How long that teacher will last, as of now we don’t know.
When it comes to a long time, 25 years ago, a young writer by the name of Judd Apatow. Heard of him? Well, he pitched an idea for The Simpsons and it is finally happening. His idea is Homer goes to a hypnotist and he is hypnotized to believe he is 10 years old. Since mentally he is the same age as his son, Bart, the two become best friends. Jean says it is a sweet episode and they are happy to see it finally come to life.
We, the fans, continue to be happy that this show just won’t die. So here’s to episode 253 and beyond!
I hope that they will get to episode 500 and then FXX can air a month long marathon instead of just a 12 day one.
