I am not sure if you heard, but there is a fire near the Hollywood Sign on the Burbank side of the Hollywood Hills. Well I live near where the fire is burning and I decided to take some photos and show you some of the landmarks near it. The fire seems to be started by two teens playing with fireworks near The Oakwood Apartments. A lot of celebs stay there during pilot season because it so close to the studios. In fact Oakwood is between Universal and Warner Bros. And as you will see by the pictures the fire is very close to the Warner Bros Lot. Although I walked towards the fire it looks like there is a lot of smoke in the sky, but according to Drink This… the smoke looks worse on the other side So here are the pictures:
The two buildings are owned by Disney and behind it is where the fire is burning.
That is the Graciela Hotel made famous by Scott Weiland over the weekend, but look at the smoke behind it.
That is me walking over the 134 (the Highway Nicole Richie drove the wrong way) and the building at the end is Warner Bros Records which is next to NBC. NBC is where they film Days of our Lives, Jay Leno and Ellen Degeneres.
Now is where you start seeing the Warner Bros Lot and how close the fire is to it.
Now is where you will see Forrest Lawn (lots of celebs are buried here) and The Oakwood Apartments, where the fire started.
Now I am walking home and as you can see the smoke is not really coming my way yet, but that can change. On another note, almost every movie that Warner Bros has put in the spot on that building has done poorly at the box office or won the Best Picture Oscar.
The news is reporting that the fire looks to be contained. Let's hope it stays that way.
