A day after Brett Ratner “resigned” from hosting this year’s Oscars, Eddie Murphy, the star of his bomb Tower Heist and his choice to host the shindig has done the same. The SNL alum said this in a statement from AMPAS, “First and foremost I want to say that I completely understand and support each party’s decision with regard to a change of producers for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. I was truly looking forward to being a part of the show that our production team and writers were just starting to develop, but I’m sure that the new production team and host will do an equally great job.” Now that he is out, I am bummed because with the right production team he might have done a great job! Afterall he was once a very funny guy!
Now who should host the Academy Awards??? Hands down please please please bring back Billy Crystal!!!
UPDATE: The Academy announced that Brian Graizer (the guy who has Sideshow Bob’s hairstyle will produce the Oscars with Don Mischner.
Who gives a damn?. They should cancel televising it since nobody watches it anyway. It should be turned back into a large dinner party with awards like it used to be when Hollywood was glamourous. Just take pictures and they’ll be online the next day.
