During the ’70s ’80s and ’90s sitcoms with teenagers would have a “Very Special Episode” that dealt with issues likes drugs, virginity, smoking and so on. For some reason sitcoms no longer do them, could it be we have tackled all those trying issues and everything is resolved. Or did writers stop caring about being the voice for PSAs. C’mon Jake on Two and a Half Men can have drinking problem. One of the teens on Modern Family could try smoking. I Hate My Teenage Daughter, if it sees a second episode, could do a coming out special. The options are endless and there has to be a way to bring them back.
But until then we can watch some of the most memorable “Very Special Episodes” from Saved by the Bell, Family Matters, Full House, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Home Improvement, Family Ties, Degrassi, Diff’rent Strokes, The Cosby Show, Punky Brewster, Captain Planet, Boy Meets World, Dinosaurs, Mr. Belvedere, Lizzie McGuire and Beverly Hills 90210 in the above video. The only problem I have with that brilliant video that PleatedJeans posted on YouTube is they didn’t include The Facts of Life. They had more “Very Special Episodes” than any other show!!!

xoxo Michael!!!
