Tonight’s big winner was television because there were so many new comers that so richly deserved their Emmy statuette. The biggest and best surprise were the comedies! Congrats to Modern Family, Eric Stonestreet, Steve Levitan, Glee, Jane Lynch and Jim Parsons for winning the Emmys they earned for excellence. Thank you to Modern Family for really reviving sitcoms, Steve and Christopher Lloyd (not the Taxi one) for your great show and I am so happy Emmys recognized you! About time Jane Lynch won because she has been one of the most underrated actresses until Glee, she has always stolen the show no matter which one it is! Another big winner, thanks to the comedies, was broadcast television. Except for Edie Falco in Showtime’s Nurse Betty all the winners were on broadcast TV. In drama only CBS’ Archie Panjabi for The Good Wife could say that. HBO dominated the movies’ section, but who really cares about those?
I have to admit, I can’t really complain about this year’s Emmy. Jimmy Fallon also did a good job, largely because that opening numbers was so freaking awesome!
Now when it comes to two big losers tonight The Amazing Race and 30 Rock, I wonder if they are sh!tting a brick that this season will be their last because without Emmy gold to claim as their own this own…will their networks decide that this will be their end? I personally think their Emmys is what has kept them on the air. You know kind of like Ugly Betty, the year that America Fererra wasn’t nominated again (even though she never deserved any of them), the show was axed from ABC’s line up.
