Netflix is hosting a Sinbad fundraiser
April 12th, 2024 under Sinbad. [ Comments: none ]

In November 2020, Sinbad suffered a major stroke. Since then, he has been recuperating, trying to get back to where he was before the stroke. And that is costly.

So on May 6th, Netflix is a Joke will hold a fundraiser to raise money for Sinbad Special Needs Trust.

His family is “thrilled to announce #netflixisajoke fest, in partnership with Live Nation, a special night of comedy dedicated to honoring the legendary comedian Sinbad! There will be special guests, surprise sets, and more at YouTube Theater on May 6th, so make sure to get your tickets now.”

The event will be hosted by Doug E. Fresh, with guest performances by Deon Cole, D.L. Hughley, Byron Allen, Mark Curry, DJ Trauma, and more surprise guests! I have a feeling one of those special guests will be Sinbad himself.

For a limited time, you can get tickets for $25 if you use the promo code COUNTDOWN.

Star Trek: Strange Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks renewed, but…
April 12th, 2024 under Star Trek. [ Comments: 1 ]

The good news is that Paramount+ picked up Star Trek: Strange Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks for another season. The bad news is it will be the animated show’s last season.

“It has been incredibly rewarding to continue to build the STAR TREK universe, and we’re so grateful to Secret Hideout and our immensely talented casts and producers,” said Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Programming, Paramount+. “STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS has found the perfect blend of action, adventure and humor, and we’re elated to announce another season ahead of our season three premiere. Similarly, STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS has brought the laughs with an ample amount of heart to the franchise across its four seasons. We can’t wait for audiences to see what is in store for the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos in this final season.”

I hope Lower Decks ends with Moopsy eating everyone! Long live Moopsy!

Sonja Flemming/CBS

CBS announced today that they picked up The Talk for a 15th season. That is the good news. The bad news is that it will be its final season.

“It goes without saying that hosting and producing a year-round talk show is no easy task, and we express our sincere gratitude to our amazing hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood, our executive producer/showrunner Rob Crabbe and the hardworking producing team and crew. We also want to acknowledge our former show hosts and colleagues who contributed throughout the seasons,” Amy Reisenbach, President, CBS Entertainment, and David Stapf, President, CBS Studios said in a statement. We truly appreciate the skill, creativity, and dedication everyone involved brought to the show every day. And of course, we thank the numerous guests who appeared, and the millions of viewers who tuned in daily. For the final season, we plan to celebrate the show and give it the proper sendoff it deserves when it concludes in December 2024.”

It is expected to be replaced by the upcoming African-American Soap Opera, The Gates.

Are you going to miss it? I am going to miss seeing what funny things Jerry was going to do during each episode.

The Golden Bachelor’s marriage ends in divorce
April 12th, 2024 under The Bachelor. [ Comments: none ]

The Golden Bachelor was a massive ratings success, but Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s marriage is a failure.

The estranged couple announced this morning on Good Morning America they are dissolving their marriage after less than 100 days.

“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth. And we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Turner told Juju Chang.

So what went wrong? Nist explained, “We looked at homes in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey, and we just looked at homes after homes, but we never got to the point where we made that decision.”

Even though they are getting a divorce, they say they still love each other. It was just that neither one of them wanted to pick up their lives for the other one.

Is anyone surprised that it didn’t work out? I was surprised they actually went through with the wedding. I knew it was never going to last.

I think he likes women he can control. She might give off submissive vibes, but she is from New Jersey, and there is only some much shit she will take. And he, being from mid-America, was not used to someone like that. At least, that is what I am assuming.

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush learn Burlesque
April 12th, 2024 under Kathie Lee and Hoda. [ Comments: none ]

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush are in New Orleans to celebrate five years of working together on their Today hour.

What do you do if you are in the Big Easy? If you are the co-anchors, then you take Burlesque lessons.

How did they do? They took the sexy out of the erotic dancing. Thankfully, not a lot of men are watching them because they would be scarred for life.
