Harry Connick Jr’s talk show was cancelled
February 17th, 2018 under Harry Connick Jr. [ Comments: none ]

Last year, there was no buzz when Harry Connick Jr’s show was picked up for a second season. In fact, I did not know it was renewed until its new season started. Well, this year we know its future and it does not have one.

NBCU TV Distribution told The Hollywood Reporter, “Harry is ending its run after two seasons. Harry is a phenomenal talent and it’s been a great partnership working with the Fox Stations and other supportive groups on this truly unique show.”

The talk show will continue taping new episodes and airing until September.

Don’t feel too bad for Connick Jr, he is set to star in the Broadway version of The Sting.

Rick Springfield shares a really neat Elvis Presley story!
January 18th, 2018 under Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Presley, Harry Connick Jr. [ Comments: none ]

Rick Springfield might sing Don’t Talk to Strangers, but thankfully Elvis Presley did not believe that. The never ageing rocker shared a story about meeting The King to Harry Connick Jr yesterday on the crooner’s daytime talk show.

Back in 1971 when Springfield was flying back to Australia, they had a stopover in Hawaii and Elvis boarded the plane. Of course, Elvis the Pelvis sat in first class, and Rick, back then, sat in the cheap seats. Towards the end of their flight, Presley got up, walked to the back of the plane and signed autographs and took pictures with all of the passengers on the plane. Which is totally awesome that someone as famous (was their anyone more popular than him) as The King of Rock’n’Roll would do that, while most of today’s celebrities cannot talk to the commoners.

Back to Springfield, at the time he was managed by the same man who directed Elvis’ 1968 special and the two men bonded over that. What a really swell encounter to share with everyone and anyone. I would start every conversation with that if that happened to me.

When it comes to Elvis, this story makes me love him even more. Some of the other actors I have heard stories about like this are Henry Winkler and Jerry O’Connell, the latter I witness for myself at the Jimmy Kimmel Live green room.

BTWF ads: Chris Meloni for Quick Hamburgers

via Harry Connick Jr’s Show
Before Chris Meloni starred in Harold & Kumar Go to the White Castle, he starred in a commercial for a Belgian hamburger joint called Quick Hamburgers. What a head of hair the 20something had in the mid-’80s for his professional acting debut.

Rick Springfield and Harry Connick Jr give new meaning to elevator muzak

No offense to Rick Springfield and Harry Connick Jr, but we have all heard their songs in the elevator. I guess that is why they took their talent to new heights. Yesterday, after the man, who wanted Jessie’s Girl, was done filming a guest appearance on Connick’s daytime talk show, they had a jam session in a lift.

Too bad it is not part of the show because I would love to hear how it must have sounded. The acoustics have to be incredible inside of one and with Springfield’s voice I am sure it was totally bitchin’.

Shemar Moore likes to ride the unicycle!
November 17th, 2017 under Harry Connick Jr, Shemar Moore. [ Comments: none ]

Let’s be honest when you heard Harry Connick Jr reveal to us that Shemar Moore was going to show off his secret talent, you thought it was going to be something to do with his abs. We are wrong. His secret talent is that he can ride an unicycle.

For someone who hasn’t been on one in a decade, he did pretty well. Which the sadist in me is kind of upset about. Is that wrong I wanted to see him fall?
