Does the trailer for the James Brown biopic make you Get On Up?
May 28th, 2014 under James Brown. [ Comments: none ]

The trailer is out for Get On Up and whoever edited it should be fired. I am sure the James Brown biopic that comes out on August 1st is going to be really good, but it is hard to tell from that trailer. The Godfather of Soul was larger than life and that was anything but.
Are you going to see it when it comes out or will you stay home and watch some of his videos on YouTube instead.

James Brown will finally rest in peace
February 20th, 2007 under James Brown. [ Comments: none ]

THE six adult children of singer James Brown have agreed with his partner, Tomi Rae Hynie, on where the entertainer will be buried. Robert Rosen, Hynie's lawyer, said yesterday the resting place is being kept confidential at the request of Brown's children. He said the burial may take place in the "next few days." An attorney for Brown's children would not discuss specifics but said an agreement was being worked out. Brown died Christmas Day at age 73. His body is in a confidential location, said Charles Reid, manager of the C.A. Reid Funeral Home, which handled Brown's funeral. He said he checked on Brown on Tuesday, opening the gold casket to view the body. "I do that constantly," Reid said. "That's the only way I can actually check him . . . go in, open the casket and close it. And he's fine."

It is about time, it only took them 2 months.

James Brown still not buried

The remains of the "Godfather of Soul," James Brown, were moved to a crypt last week until his final resting place is determined, amid a dispute between relatives for his estate, a funeral home owner said. After his demise on Christmas, December 25, Brown’s body was kept for 20 days in his Beech Island, South Carolina home in a temperature-controlled room in the gold-and-bronze casket used during his funeral services. The remains "were moved on last Thursday" to a temporary crypt in an undisclosed location, until Brown’s relatives decide on a final resting place, said Charlie Reid, owner of CA Reid funeral home in Augusta, Georgia, which has been in charge of the remains since late December. Reid said he did not know how long it would take for the family to reach an agreement on Brown’s final destination, but explained "they’re trying to finish this other stuff left … so it shouldn’t be that long." He said the above-ground crypt was a much more appropriate place to keep the remains until the dispute is settled down. "Oh yes, I would say so," said Reid. Asked where the remains were taken, Reid refused to comment. "That’s private information," he said. Relatives of Brown had been entangled in a legal dispute, as his former partner Tomi Rae Hynie and their five-year-old son were excluded from his will, signed more than a year before he married Hynie and 10 months before James Brown Jr. was born. His other six children are to divide up his personal possessions, clothing, jewelry and cars as expressed in the will, which was registered in court the same day Brown’s remains where moved to the new location.

His family should be ashamed. How can they put their needs and greed ahead of burying him? That is just so sad of them.

James Brown still not buried

James Brown’s partner, his six adult children and trustees of his estate will meet in a South Carolina court on Friday to resolve disputes over his estate as the soul legend’s remains still await burial. Brown’s partner, Tomi Rae Hynie, and his children are upset with the three long-time associates he named as trustees. Lawyers will also argue whether Hynie, who claims she is Brown’s fourth wife, can get access to Brown’s Beech Island home. The singer’s embalmed body, meanwhile, remains in the same sealed, gold coffin seen at his funeral awaiting a decision on where to bury it, officials at the undertakers that handled Brown’s funeral say. Brown, 73, who died of heart failure on Christmas Day, left a will that calls for many of his personal possessions to be divided among his six adult children. The trust is separate from the will and contains most of the singer’s primary assets, including music rights and his home. Brown’s children sued last month, saying the trustees needed to be removed because the soul singer’s estate was mismanaged and some of his assets were in danger of being lost or stolen. The children also want a special administrator to oversee the estate. Buddy Dallas, Brown’s lawyer and trustee, said he was confident the court would "respect the wishes of Mr Brown", allowing the trustees to remain in charge.

These selfish people should get nothing. How can they put their monetary needs before his? Yes he is dead and no longer has needs, but we live in a society where you bury dead. We also live in a society where people contest the will. But almost all the people who contest the will, bury the person first. This scenario is so sad to me and I pray that the Judge at least orders them to bury him on Friday.
