The Next Great Burger is scrumptious!
July 21st, 2015 under Esquirer. [ Comments: none ]

If you are like me, then the only reason you are not a vegetarian is because you love hamburgers too much to give them up. There is nothing better than putting a big juicy piece of meat between your lips. When you go to a new restaurant, you have to try their burgers to see if it is the best one you’ve ever had. Well The Next Great Burger is going to help you find that perfect one every Tuesday at 10p on Esquire.
For the next 5 weeks, three chefs from different cooking backgrounds are going to make their best burger for 2 judges, Sullivan & Son’s Owen Benjamin and Chef Joseph “JJ” Johnson. Then when those two have them sampled them all, two contestants will move on and the third person goes home. Now the two remaining contestants have to make 60 burgers for the audience and those 60 people decide who moves on to the finals. The winner of the final round, in week six, will bring home $25,000. Which is pretty yummy price for a burger with no truffles.
The Next Great Burger is a fast moving show that never leaves you bored. In fact, it leaves you drooling and wanting a big bloody burger to sink your teeth into. I have been craving one since I saw the first episode. Actually not only am I craving a burger, I am craving the next episode of The Next Great Burger.
When I asked Owen Benjamin on Twitter, where can I get the best burger in Los Angeles; he told me I can get it at the Burger Lounge in Marina Del Rey. He knows his burgers, so I am going to trust his opinion. I will let you know if he is right. If he is wrong, then I might change my mind about this show. Joking.

Dick Wolf’s shows epic crossover begins as The Runner-Up ends!
April 28th, 2015 under Dick Wolf, Esquirer, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p on NBC, Chicago Fire starts off the three episode, two night crossover of Dick Wolf’s show on NBC.
The fire department gets sent to a massive building fire and inside they find a woman who has been badly burned in it. When she gets to the hospital, the doctors find out that she was raped and beaten before she was burned. Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) go back into the building and find out the fire was purposely set to hide what really happened.
When Law & Order: SVU‘s Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) reads about what happened, she calls Chicago PD because it sounds like an unsolved case she worked on a decade ago. She flies to Chicago to help with investigation of the rape.
There aren’t too many people that fit the description and also lived in NYC during her case and Chicago now. Eventually they narrow their search down to one man and he kidnaps someone who is one of the three shows and takes her NYC.
Now the NY and Chicago police officers need to find him before he kills again. Will they be able to find the needle in the haystack before it’s too late? You will have to tune in for this suspenseful three episode crossover tonight at 10p and tomorrow at 9p on NBC to find out.
Even though it is a crossover, each show feels to be done by its own people. Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Law & Order: SVU each have their own style and that comes through So fans of each show will still be able to enjoy each episode like they do every week.

Also at 10p tonight but on Esquire, it’s time for the series final of The Runner-Up. It’s almost Election Day and Clay Aiken is going to find out if he will be a US Congressman.
Clay decides to an ad to get people to vote for him. Even though he didn’t want to go negative he decides to listen to his people and do just that. After it runs, they get a call from FactCheck.org that says some of the things in the ad might be accurate. Will that get him in trouble?
Finally, when that is all dealt with, it is finally Election Day. Clay decides to visit the polls personally, but something happens that put that all in jeopardy.
Now it’s time for the results. Things are looking good for him at the beginning of the night, but will it continue?
You just have to tune in for this educational and enjoyable docuseries’ finale to find out. I am sincerely sad this show is ending.

Catch Fresh Off the Boat, Hell’s Kitchen, Weird Loners & The Runner Up tonight
April 21st, 2015 under ABC, Esquirer, Fox, Gordon Ramsay. [ Comments: none ]

Believe it or not, Fresh Off the Boat is already airing its season finale on ABC tonight at 8p.
Things have been going so well for The Huangs that Jessica (Constance Wu) and Louis (Randall Park) have been asked to join the local country club. When someone tells them that the couple they forget that they are Chinese, Jessica goes back to her roots and thinks the family should do the same so they don’t forget where they came from. That means the boys go to Chinese school, Jessica is only serving Chinese foods and Louis can’t open a second restaurant.
Will her plan work or will they rebel against her? You have to watch this sweet season finale to find out.

Also at 8p on Fox, someone is forced to leave Hell’s Kitchen in the crappiest possible way. The day starts off normally for the 11 contestants, but then one of them goes into bathroom and things change. That person screams in pain, so much so Gordon Ramsay tells them that they can’t continue on with the competition. What causes the pain, you will just have to tune in to find out. Also to find out if their departure means that no one will go home after another disastrous dinner service.

Also on Fox, but at 9:30p Weird Loners is back with another hilarious episode.
Eric (Nate Torrence) is on a human chess team, and he could be promoted to Rook. In order to get the promotion, he needs to get his next door neighbor Caryn (Becki Newton) to date the man who currently holds the position. She agrees to go on the date, but it is a disaster. Is it so much of a disaster that he will not get to move up to a Rook?
While they are playing Chess, Stosh (Zachary Knighton) sees an opportunity with Zara’s (Meera Rohit Kumbhani) artwork, so he enters her in art contest. Now the two of them are coming up with her persona for her to win. How overboard will they go? You just have to see it to believe it.
I don’t know why people aren’t watching Weird Loners, it seriously Fox’s most endearing comedy in a really long time. Please check it tonight, once you do I am sure you will be as hooked as I am!

Finally, at 10p on Esquire, its time The Runner Up, one of the most important shows on television during this political season. On this episode, Gay marriages are now allowed in North Carolina. Everyone wants to know Clay Aiken’s opinion on it and he isn’t saying much. He explains that he is for it as a gay man, but does not want that to define him while he is running for US Congress. He knows it is more important for him to get elected, and help people once he has job. It might not make sense the way I am typing it, but it will when you watch the show.
Even though Clay’s campaign manager tells him the most important thing to do is raise money for the campaign, he decides to take his message on the road with a bus tour. He thinks it is more important to talk to the people directly than ask for money.
On one of his stops, he will go to a Tea Party gathering. There are so many things he says to the voters there that makes me wish I could vote for him.
So much of what Clay says in each episode, proves what is wrong with our current elected officials. So many people and candidates are just about their political parties that they are not meeting in the middle. Clay wishes there are moderates in office and I am with him.
It isn’t only his wish that people weren’t only defined by their Political Party that makes me think this show should be shown in all schools, it is all the bullcrap that goes into to running for office. This show shows you it is more about the money than why you are running. And you wonder why DC is so f*cked up?
So tune for an eye opening look at how political campaigns are run these days, and see how truly horrifying it is. Remember we are less than 9 months away from the first Presidential Primary, and we should see what the candidates are doing to prep for the election. Hopefully this show will make people think about it so much so that we will be asking for a change! Let’s be honest, there needs to be one and it needs to happen yesterday.

Clay Aiken’s The Runner-Up is a winner!
April 7th, 2015 under American Idol 1-5, Esquirer. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2014, Clay Aiken ran for US Congress in North Carolina. The Runner-Up documents his run starting tonight at 10p on Esquire.
The series starts off days before the primary election and he already has a long road ahead of him. He has a group of people supporting him, but it is not obvious if they fully support the newcomer as they should.
Even though they don’t have a lot of faith in him, he will try to get the constituents to do just that. He will do anything he can to get them to vote for him. He will knock on doors, put up signs, attend rallies, visit nursing homes and go to the polling places the day of the election. Will it be enough?
He has tough competition. He is running against Keith Crisco who has been part of the North Carolina political scene for decades. Although Clay wants to run a clean race, things get nasty fast. Behind the scenes, Clay has nothing nice to say about his opponent. Which is understandable by how the race is going between them.
Finally, it is Election Day and it is a very close race between the two of them. By the end of the night, it looks like Clay has barely won, but Crisco can call for a recount. Then something happens that changes the race. It will leave the American Idol runner-up speechless. You don’t want to miss his sincere reaction to the surprising sad news.
You also don’t want to miss the reason that Clay tells us why he decided to run for Congress in the first place. He cries as he explains his reasoning and you will tear up with him.
Tonight is just the first part of Clay’s run for Congress, each week will focus on the different stages of his campaign until that tense day in November when the candidate find out if he is going to Washington.
I have been a fan of Aiken’s since American Idol, so of course I found this show captivating. But it isn’t only my admiration for him that will get me tuning in, I found it really interesting what goes on behind the scene in a local political race. If you are into politics, then this a show you are going to vote for every week. If you are into American Idol, then you will do. If you are fan of neither, I still think you will vote for The Runner-Up.

Enrique Iglesias makes good on his bet!!!
August 5th, 2010 under Esquirer. [ Comments: none ]

Enrique Iglesias made a bet and said if Spain won the World Cup he would water ski naked. Well TMZ has acquired the video proof that he made good on his bet and did a true moon over Miami! Sadly though we can’t tell if his penis is as small as he said he was. I guess we will have to wait 4 years until the next World Cup bet to get another shot at his little soccer balls and net!
