Big Trick Energy has huge magic tricks and even huger personalities
April 22nd, 2021 under TruTV. [ Comments: none ]

Big Trick Energy is a magic show with a twist. That twist is that it’s four men with a magical friendship who are sharing their talent with the unsuspecting public. Be prepared to be blown away by what they do tonight and every Thursday at 10:30p on truTV.

While the tricks are awesome, really awesome, you are actually tuning in to watch Chris Ramsay, Eric Leclerc, Wes Barker, and Alex Boyer’s friendship. The best way to put it is that you can’t take these guys anywhere, but you want to be wherever they are.

They are exuberant and humorous. When you watch them playing off of each other, you don’t think they will be able to do the things that they do. They don’t just do card tricks. It is more than reading our minds. It is about blowing our minds and the people they are showing off their illusions to.

The four best friends want us to see their friendship, and we witness it throughout each episode. They not only show off their tricks to other people, but they are constantly pranking and messing with each other. They are boys being boys in a way that you will make you wish you can be the fifth member in the quartet. However, more of a silent observer because they do a lot worse things than put an electric dog collar on one of their necks. All I will say is they almost make one of them cry tonight when they destroy something he loves.

With all of these jokes, I had to know which one of them is the biggest jokester when I recently interviewed them on Zoom. “Oh, it’s, it’s got to be me or Eric,” Chris said. “Wes is definitely the standup comedian of the four of us. He’s been a professional stand-up comedian and magician for as long as he’s been performing, touring the country in colleges and stuff. Eric is also very, very spontaneous.” Wes added, “Eric’s situational comedy is pretty unfiltered and unmatched.”

Now that we know who the biggest prankster is, I needed to know who the best magician is. “Alex got the chops,” Chris said. While Wes added, “Alex understands classic magic more than we do. I think.” Chris spoke for his friend to say, “Alex can’t speak, so he has to do good tricks. He loves magic with doves. Loves the animals.”

And what do they want you to love about Big Trick Energy? They all chimed in for this answer. “That we’re best friends…Don’t take magic so seriously. Don’t take yourself seriously…Who cares? You know how it’s done. Good for you. Pat, on the back. You are going to have a laugh and have a good time.” A good time is going to be had by all because you will be laughing for a half-hour straight.

Then at the end of the half-hour, you will get to see how they did their huge opening number. Did I not mention that they start each show with a magnificent stunt? Anyways, who doesn’t like to see how they make their illusions happen? If you don’t want to see it, then just change the channel when the credits start to roll. Although, I doubt you are ever going to want to change the channel when they are on.

Not to be cheesy, but I am; the fantastic four are really magical. So magical, you will instantly fall into their trance and want to watch them every week.

Did TruTV say I’m Sorry when they cancelled this show?
August 28th, 2020 under TruTV. [ Comments: none ]

Did you know that TruTV had a show on their channel called I’m Sorry? Well, don’t say sorry for not knowing that because you are not the only one. That is why they made the decision to cancel the show, even though it was picked up for a third season in March.

A spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter, “Due to circumstances created by COVID, we unfortunately cannot move forward with production on the third season of I’m Sorry.”

I really hope they said I’m sorry to the people involved with the show when they told them about their decision. That is the least they could do.

Hot Ones: The Game Show brings the sweat, tears and vomit
February 18th, 2020 under Sean Evans Hot Ones, TruTV. [ Comments: none ]

I am a sadist who loves to drink hot sauce. Therefore, Hot Ones: The Game Show is like porn to me. Find out why it has me so excited tonight and every Tuesday at 10p on TruTV. I am pretty sure you have seen Sean Evans’ webseries Hot Ones, well the game show is loosely based on it.

Before the first question is even asked, the two teams that consist of two people, have to eat a very hot wing. Then they proceed to answer three questions without anything to numb their mouths. On tonight’s series premiere, one guy throws up before the commercial break. Will he be able to continue on? There are medical advisors on the show to determine if he can.

The second round is a repeat of the first round, but with a hotter wing. As the sweat pours out of their pores, they have to ask themselves is it worth it to go to the third round. For that round, they do not have to eat a wing before it starts. Instead, they have to take a big bite of a very hot wing if they get the answer correct. The team with the higher score goes on to the Ring of Fire.

That is when they have to do a shot of extremely hot sauce that turns your a$$ into a fire-breathing dragon. Since breathing out of their mouths in nearly impossible because of the pain. It does not help their lips and tongues that they are going to have to scream to their teammates through a huge ring of fire to win the grand prize. If they win this round, then they win $25,000 and as much milk they want. I hope they are not lactose intolerant because man it is going to burn coming out in so many ways.

It is rare I say I want to be on a game show, but this one is calling my name. I just want to try the sauces. I am up to tolerating Haberno without a problem, so I want to see how painful it is.

That and this show is a lot of fun to watch. You get to see the contestants are in so much physical pain. Is it wrong to enjoy that? I don’t care. What I care about is how much I love this game show.

Hot Ones looks like it is going to be on fire!
January 15th, 2020 under TruTV. [ Comments: none ]

I am sure you have seen Sean Evans interview celebrities. Not sure who that is? He is the one who makes celebs eat hot wings that get spicier with each answer. Now you know who I am talking about. Well, he is going from YouTube to truTV starting on February 18th.

If you are a fan of his chat show, then I have some bad news for you. That is not what Hot One is about. It is a game show where contestants answer questions and eat a hotter wing for each round. The higher the pepper gets on the Scoville Scale, the dumber they get.

Each week, the two teams will compete in three rounds of trivia, and the team with the most money advances to the Ring of Fire. If they win that round, then they will win $25,000. However, I am sure, at that moment, they are more excited about the other prize…a milkshake.

Hot Ones has already filmed all of its 20 episodes, and so far, the contestants have reacted with tears, sweat, vomit, and in one case, a panic attack, as their mouths melt from the intense heat of the sauce. Good thing they have EMTs standing by. Personally, I think they would prefer to have the paramedics with them after the show. You know when nature calls because it burns, even more, coming out!

That is the show I am interested in. The producers should put cameras on their necks, recording their facial reactions as they go. I am such a sadist, so I cannot wait for this game show.

Breaking Greenville takes you behind the news!
January 29th, 2015 under TruTV. [ Comments: none ]

No matter where you live in America, there is a local news station that you have watched to find out what is going on in your neck of the woods. Have you ever wondered what it takes to put on those newscasts? Well, Breaking Greenville on TruTV tonight at 10:30p will show you just that.
They feature two stations in Greenville, Mississippi, WABG and WXVT. Even though they are a smaller market, that doesn’t mean they don’t have huge personalities.
This isn’t just how the news is made, this is a behind the scenes look of what it is like to work in the news business.
As someone who worked in local news, I enjoyed this show so much because it reminded what I enjoyed about working in it. It’s the friendships, the competitiveness, the crazy personalities and the adrenaline rush you get when you a good story. Breaking Greenville shows all of that, but it also shows what happens on a slow news day and you have to make something out of nothing.
So if you want to know how they make the 11p news, tune to TruTV a half hour earlier to find out.
