This tribute to Leonard Nimoy is out of this world!
February 28th, 2015 under NASA, Star Trek. [ Comments: none ]

Leonard Nimoy passed away yesterday at the age of 83 and NASA took his death very hard. Today, Terry W Virts, one of the astronauts on the International Space Station decided to honor the Dr Spock. He did so by giving him the Vulcan Salute while looking out at the final frontier.
If that doesn’t say Live Long and Prosper, I don’t know what does! I know that the star of Star Trek is looking down at him, giving him the salute as he breaks the Vulcan emotional code and smiles because of all of the love he has been getting over the last day.

What does Outer Space smell like?
January 15th, 2015 under NASA. [ Comments: none ]

We know that Outer Space has zero gravity, but does it have a smell? Yesterday on the International Space Station, Samantha Cristoforetti got to find and she wishes she didn’t. You can tell by her face that it is utterly gross. Well that and she said “Not good!”. Now we know why they wear those Space Suits, it’s to protect them from the stench.
BTW why did the only female on the ISS get the honor? It’s like she has four older brothers, and they force their baby sister to do all the gross things. But then again, she’s the only one of them that could brag she knows what it smells like when she is finally back on Earth!

You don’t need hands to juggle in Outer Space!
January 13th, 2015 under NASA. [ Comments: none ]

The astronauts on the International Space Station got a care package from Earth and included in it was some oranges. Terry W Virts and Sam Cristoforetti were so overjoyed about having some fresh fruit up there that they decided to show off their juggling skills. Something that appears to be so much easier to do when you living with zero gravity.

Christmas in Space!
December 26th, 2014 under NASA. [ Comments: none ]

Ever wonder if they do Christmas in space? Well thanks to the Astronauts on the International Space Station, we know that they do. Terry W Virts, Anton Shkaplerov and Samantha Cristoforetti shared some photos of themselves enjoying the holiday and I think we need to expand that saying Peace on Earth to Peace in the Universe. Especially if people from America, Russia and Italy can celebrate it joyously together up in Outer Space, why can’t we do it here down on Earth?

This is what getting a haircut in space looks like!
December 24th, 2014 under NASA. [ Comments: none ]

Ever wonder how Astronauts maintain their hair in Space? Well Terry W Virts revealed how they get haircuts on the International Space Station. They get Flowbeed. So I wonder what came first, the Flowbee or whatever that thing is called that they are using on ISS? Either way, how cool is it to be let in on this secret that is literally out of this world.
