The Buzz about the newest member of the Jonas Brothers!
September 11th, 2017 under Jonas Brothers, NASA. [ Comments: none ]

We would have to have a man walk on the moon in order to get the Jonas Brothers back in the studio again. Looks like we might be one giant step for mankind closer to getting that to happen because here is Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas hanging with Buzz Aldrin yesterday! Hopefully the astronaut is working his magic to get the four of them to record some new music. It is what the music industry has been missing!

This is how you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in space!
April 27th, 2017 under NASA. [ Comments: 3 ]

I don’t know about you, but I always thought they only ate freeze dried food and drank Tang on the International Space Station. Turns out they also eat food like we do here on Earth.

NASA Astronaut Shane Kimbrough gave us a demonstration on how they make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in Space and it isn’t as easy as it is here. First they have to tape or Velcro the ingredients down so they don’t float away. To make matters even worse for them, they don’t have bread up there, so they have to use Tortillas. Then they do what we do down here, but instead of making sure the cap doesn’t fall on the floor, they have to make sure it doesn’t get sucked up into the air conditioning system. Once it is all done, it is time to enjoy one of the World and Outer Space’s favorite comfort food. With that I am now craving PB&J and I have none of the things I need to make one.

BTW who else was else was fixated on the Sriracha sauce bottle and wonder what they use it for up there?

One giant step back for man
December 5th, 2016 under NASA. [ Comments: none ]

Buzz Aldrin will forever be in the history books as the second man to walk on the Moon back in 1969. Late last week, the 86 year old former Astronaut was medically evacuated from the South Pole for Altitude Sickness and is now recovering in a hospital until his lungs heal.
But I am not sure that is the only organ he has to worry about because he made a Kim Kardashian joke while he was recuperating in his quarantined room. Maybe the lack of oxygen got to him. Why else would he Tweet about her?
In all seriousness, let’s hope he gets better soon, so he can go to that other pole and help Santa Claus on Christmas. That is how he got to the Moon, right?

Jon Cryer goes to Space with Celebrity Adventure Club!
July 1st, 2016 under Jon Cryer, NASA, Travel Channel. [ Comments: none ]

When Jon Cryer was a teenager, he went to the Bronx High School of Science. Therefore, you can assume that he loves Space, and you would be right. The 51 year old is going to live his boyhood dream tonight at 11p on Travel Channel’s Celebrity Travel Club.
He will travel the Country and the World to visit different Space Centers and talk to several Astronauts. His first stop is NASA headquarters in DC where he will talk to the Head Astronaut.
From there his will travel to Houston where he will stay in the Houston We Have a Problem Room at a hotel. It is so out of this world awesome, I want to book a stay there. Once he gets a good night’s sleep, it is time for him to visit the Johnson Space Center. He will get a tour of the facility including an actual size model of the International Space Station, put on a real Spacesuit, sit in a capsule that transports Astronauts to the ISS and get a work out like they do up there. The coolest part is watching the grueling task of him putting on the Spacesuit which includes him putting on his own diaper.
Now it is time for his next stop, he travels to Star City, Russia to visit the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. There he will go through Cosmonaut training. Before you can enter the centrifuge, you need to get a physical exam. Once he enters the centrifuge, you will see why. I got dizzy just watching him. The way he describes it, makes it seem worse than what we saw. After going around and around, you wouldn’t think he would want to eat; but when he gets to experince how they eat on the ISS, he makes room. You might not want to eat after they describe how much they recycle what you eat and drink in Space. After you eat, we all want to feel lighter. Now, it is time for him to get to experience weightlessness in a Spacesuit.
After that, there is nothing left but for him to soak up all he has been through. It is an Adventure that all of us wish we can experience. But since we can’t, it is really cool to see it experiences through his eyes. Not only is interesting to watch, it is educational. A lot goes into the training of being an Astronaut and it is so cool to see just a little sample of it on this exciting show.
In the coming weeks, Terry Crews travels to Detroit for the rebirth of Motor City and Eric Stonestreet looks into World War II espionage. I can’t wait to go on that Adventure with them starting tonight at 11p with Cryer’s.

This is how they shower in space!
January 26th, 2016 under NASA. [ Comments: none ]

Have you ever wondered how they shower on the International Space Station? I mean, they are up there sometimes for a whole year, and they need to clean themselves. Right? Well they do, and ESA astronaut Tim Peake showed us how. They use one of the packets filled with water, put it on a washcloth and wipe their body down. Not as exciting as I thought it would be, but still interesting to see how they do it.
Well, according to Neil deGrasse Tyson, they can’t physical “do it” in Space, but they can clean themselves off as though they had.
