Alan Thicke passed away today at the age of 69 from a heart attack in Burbank according to TMZ.
He is best known to all of us as Jason Seaver on Growing Pains. He was like your friend’s cool dad that you liked hanging out with every week for a half hour. Before we knew him in that role, we knew his words from the Different Strokes and The Facts of Life’s theme songs. That was his day job, but at night he was hosting a talk show that was ahead of his time.
In recent years, he was all over our televisions in TV movies, guest roles and appearing on Reality and Games Show. Whenever he was on, he would bring a smile to our face. We remembered the joy he brought us as kids. Today, let’s honor him by watching one of his many roles.
What if your loved one was marrying someone you thought was completely wrong for them, what would you do? Tonight at 9p on Hallmark Channel, Stop the Wedding has two people ask that very question.
Anna (Rachel Boston), is a busy Divorce Lawyer from San Fransisco, who is visiting her Aunt Belle (Lini Evans), who raised her, in Seattle. The two women are having a nice conversation, but then the neighbor’s music is drowning out their chat. The two women go to confront him and find out he’s the very famous actor, Sean Castleberry (Alan Thicke) who is there filming a movie. After their confrontation, the woman go back to their house and Anna goes back home.
A month later she visits her Aunt and finds out she got engaged to Castleberry and they are getting married in two weeks. Anna loves her Aunt and thinks the actor, whose been married several times, is wrong for her. She is not alone, his son Clay (Niall Matter) feels the same way about her Aunt. Now the two of them, who hate each other, will work together to Stop the Wedding.
Anna and Clay have been too busy to find love, so do they even know what true love looks like? Are the two making the right choice by stopping the wedding? Are Belle and Sean right for each other?
You will have to tune into this delightful telemovie that leaves a huge smile on your face. It is so rare days to find a movie that is enjoyable from the beginning until the end and this is one of them. We all need to have some happiness on our weekends, and this film will do just that.
We know that Robin Thicke knows his Blurred Lines, but does he know cheesy pickup lines? Yesterday James Corden decided to find that out on The Late Late Show, and let’s just say, the singer inherited his dad’s skills. So watch to the two of them try to pick up an audience member with the cheesiest lines ever. How will they do? Just watch! Make sure to watch it all the way until the end to see who she chooses. I think she picked the right man, don’t you?
First off, ewwwww.
OK, now that I am out of the shower, time for the story. Alan Thicke’s much younger wife, Tanya Callau, told Us Weekly, “When we do get freaky, we love [Robin’s song] ‘Sex Therapy,'” Then she added, “You have to admit, it’s a great song to get in the mood.” So not the point. It’s your son-in-law, and that crosses the blurred lines.
If you think I am grossed out, imagine how Robin Thicke feels. He Tweeted, “Dad, I heard what you said to @usweekly… I need you to give back all of my music. Immediately.” Sounds fair!
Now I have to wonder if Alan and/or Robin have listened to Gloria Loring’s Friends and Lovers to get in the mood. You know what, scratch that, I don’t want to know.
I need another shower.
