BTWF: Gilbert Gottfried on Saturday Night Live
April 12th, 2022 under Before They Were Famous, Gilbert Gottfried. [ Comments: none ]

Before Gilbert Gottfried found his voice, we got to hear his real one on Saturday Night Live. How weird is it to see him so calm and hear him be so quiet when he was 25 in that 1980 bit?

RIP Gilbert Gottfried
April 12th, 2022 under Gilbert Gottfried, Obits. [ Comments: none ]

Gilbert Gottfried passed away from complications from muscular dystrophy at the age of 67. His family wrote, “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor.”

Gottfried got his start on Saturday Night Live, but then he, literally, found his voice. Once he did, we knew we were never going to forget it. That is because his high-pitched, nasally voice penetrated every inch of your body when he told a joke.

That is why he was perfect for the voice of Iago the Parrot in<del datetime=”2022-04-12T20:11:47+00:00″> Aladin and the Aflac Duck. But he was also in front of the camera in productions like the Problem Child franchise, two Sharknados, and so much more.

Just like an earthquake, you always heard him before you felt him.

It is fitting that his last role was voicing Gd in Smiling Friends. Because now, he is making Gd smile.

Gottfried is survived by his wife Dara and their children, Lily Aster, 14, and Max Aaron, 12.

I don’t know about you, but I get sucked down the TikTok rabbit hole multiple times a day. If there is one thing that pisses me off about, it is how many times I hear Megan Thee Stallion’s Savage and Drake’s Flip the Switch. It is like if I hear those tunes one more time, I am going back to Instagram.

If only there was a way to make one of those songs go away? Gilbert Gottfried found that way. He decided to sing Savage, and it fierce, like him. Fierce is not the right word; it is ferocious. Like a lion, I think he scared that single down a rabbit hole, and it will never be heard from again.

At least for me, it will never be the same. I think it actually got worse. Who knew that was possible? But obviously it is.

Before Gilbert Gottfried was doing Bill Cosby impressions as part of his act, he guest starred on The Cosby Show. How funny was the 31 year old in that 1987 episode?

Is Gilbert Gittfried in trouble with the law?
July 14th, 2015 under Gilbert Gottfried. [ Comments: none ]

We know that Gilbert Gottfried‘s mouth has gotten him in trouble with some past employers, but has it now gotten him in trouble with the law? The comedian was photographed coming out of a police van, so was he arrested? Nope, his only crime is that he is cheap and he didn’t want to spend the money on a cab. Can you blame him, they nickle and dime for everything in NYC.
