Singer Jenni Rivera, who has the hit reality show I Love Jenni on mun2, is missing after the small plane she was on lost contact with air control in Monterrey, Mexico. According to NBC News the plane, that was carrying the singer, 4 other passengers and 2 pilots, took off at 3:15a and went off the radar 62 miles later. She had performed a concert there and was traveling to her next show in Toluca, Mexico.
Jenni Rivera had just signed on to develop a multi-camera sitcom for ABC this week according to Deadline. The show is to be produced by Robert L. Boyett and Robert Horn.
Please take a moment and pray that the 43 year old singer who is the mother to 5 children, all of the passengers and the pilots are found alive and well.
Larry Hernandez is one of the biggest names in Latino music and tonight at 9p you can get to know him in mun2’s Larrymania. For the next 10 weeks, you will delve into his life behind the music and find who he really is. You will go on tour with him, spend some time with him at home with his family and see what he likes to do fun. It is a rare look into private life of someone so public. Plus you have to love a guy who says the most important women in his life are his mom, his mom and his mom.
I Love Jenni is such a huge hit on mun2 that they are giving one her daughters a spinoff. Chiquis is branching out on her own and starting her first business. She is moving out and moving up in the world with her blow dry salon. We will watch her launch the store from its earliest stages, until it is ready open and then see how she does once they up and running over 11 weeks. But The Chiquis Project isn’t only about business, it about her trying to struggle with her personal life too. And if she names her place Blow You Dry (not making that up), she will be very successful with both.
Jenni and Chiqui are unlike any of the other women you see on reality television and because of that we just can’t get enough of them. Did you know they are the only Latin women leading their own reality shows on TV. Plus they are just so relatable.
Also coming to the network is a joint project with DUB Magazine that will have your pulses racing. Each week DUB Latino will delve into the world of cars with some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports like Pitbull and Christina Milian. Dub Latino will show you different ways to pimp your car and what is coming to make your ride even cooler.
Next up for the English speaking Latino network is one of the biggest names in Latin music Larry Hernandez. Larrymania will give you an all-access look into the Mexican Superstar’s life as he juggles touring, making music and raising his kids. We will get to see how he does it all as travels to his homes in LA, Arizona and Mexico. It is an unprecedented look into the life of a musician whose career is on the rise.
Besides launching three new shows, there will be a few online specials that will peak our interest. The first one let’s us know what are the Top 15 best cities for Young Latinos to live in? And the second one is the one I am looking forward to, why are Latino men so pretty? They will find out what they do to make themselves earn the title of Latino Lovers.
There are so many good shows coming to mun2, I am not sure we will ever want to change the station.
Us English speaking people have heard about how titillating Spanish Telenovelas are and tonight starting on Mun2 at 8p we get to experience how caliente they are. Telemundo’s highest rated Telenovela La Reina Del Sur is getting subtitled on Mun2 and will be known to us as The Queen of the South. The Telenovela was such a hit on Telemundo that it regularly beat out the networks in the big markets. And when you watch this show that was based on the novel you will see why 16.6 million viewers made this must see TV.
The telenovela starts off with Teresa (Kate del Castillo) innocently taking a bath until she receives a phone call that will change her life. Her drug runner boyfriend Güero (Rafael Amaya) has been killed (and I mean you know he is dead by how they murdered him) and she is informed she needs to go on the run because she is next. She gets dressed in a pair of tight jeans, a tank top and blue high heels and proceeds to go on the run. When her best friend, his business partner and their kids have been murdered by the same people that killed her lover, she remembers what Güero told her and escapes to the safe place he told her about. That place is not that safe because Güero’s killers have found her there. Gato will rape her in a way no American show has ever done and she will get her revenge in a way you have never seen done on American TV. By doing so she is able to flee those bad men and seek solace in the one man Güero told her she could trust, but there is something she doesn’t know about him…he ordered the hit on her Güero. And that is just the first episode.
In the upcoming episodes, she will leave Mexico and travel to America, Spain, Africa and Russia and start her life over and over again trying to avoid the people that want her dead. She will become The Queen of the South and find love not once, but twice. She will work in a brothel where she meets her second lover Gallego (Iván Sánchez). He will get her involved in his crimes and this will lead to her going to jail. When she gets out she join the Russian Mafia and become a big shot. Once she reaches the top, she will finally get revenge on the people that killed the love of her life.
If you think Revenge is exciting (and I love the ABC drama), it ain’t got nothing on The Queen of the South. I have seen the first four episodes and I can’t begin to tell you how hooked I am. It is so enticing, I forget that I am reading subtitles to understand what they are saying. In fact it is helping me remember my Spanish, something I haven’t used since college.
And did I mention how sexy the leads are? You men get to see Kate del Castillo in tight revealing clothes as she evades the men after her. We get to see Rafael Amaya and Iván Sánchez in tight jeans and even less as they try to seduce her. These are not names that we currently know in the US, but we will get to know them real fast because they are just so watchable.
And coming up Tuesday I will be posting my interview with Rafael Amaya and Thursday I will do the same with Iván Sánchez who makes his first appearance on the Telenovela.
The Queen of the South debuts on Mun2 tonight at 8p and will repeat tomorrow at 10p. The 63 episodes will air Mondays to Thursdays at 10p and on Fridays the four episodes from earlier in the week will air in a marathon starting 7p. So you have no excuse for not watching this telenovela that will make you wish American shows were as sexy and thrilling as this one.
Romeo Santos became a huge name in the Latin music world as the frontman for Aventura and now he is crossing over to the Anglo market by singing with chart-topping names like Usher, Lil Wayne and Pitbull. Starting today at 3p on Mun2, you will find out how this global sensation went from performing in small clubs in The Bronx to stadiums around the world. In the two-part special Romeo Santos Inside the Formula that concludes next Saturday at 3p, you will get a candid look at his life and his music in this exclusive sit down interview.
The sweet voice (that will charm the pants off of you) of Romeo Santos might not be one you know now, but in a few months it will be one you will be so familiar with. So before everyone and their brother is talking about him, watch the two-part special on Mun2 today and next Saturday at 3p and you can tell all of them you know who he was way before them.
Seriously he is so hot, J-Lo wants to make him husband #4! Actually I don’t know if she does, but I know his voice makes me want to make him husband #1!
