Weird Al Yankovic began his tour in Las Vegas yesterday and he couldn’t figure out what to do with his hair. So he came up with a creative way to decide, but I think the decision was already made.
If I can weigh in on his hard decision I say he should go as is! What do you think?

The thing we love most about Weird Al Yankovic, is not only his music, but his quirkiness. On Saturday, the Schlock Rock singer saw one of those mechanical elephant rides, he paid the $.50 and went on one of those another one rides the bus. He is so happy on it, it looks like he’s in an Amish paradise.
Hopefully, he will buy one for his tour and perform this way.
I will stop because even I will admit, I am becoming tacky!
I guess Weird Al Yankovic has way too much time on hands as he preps for his world tour because he was able to watch what happens to Ivory Soap if you cook it in the microwave. Not only did he watch it with his own eyes, he used a camera to document his experiment.
So what’s the results? Something so beautiful that you will find yourself watching this video over and over and over again. I don’t know about you, but I am running out to Costco to get the cheapest soap they have. This way I can do the same thing and use the finished product as art pieces around my house. It will go great with the the Peeps I made in the microwave.
Weird Al Yankovic might be 55 years old, but that doesn’t mean he can’t act like a 5 year old every now and again. Case in point, the man who is White & Nerdy decided to slip and slide on a Slip ‘N Slide. At first he loved it because he felt like a kid all over again. But then when he got to end he remembered why he doesn’t do it anymore. That’s cause he made like his song, Eat It. I wonder if he will write an Achy Break Song about his adventure. Either that or it knocked some sense into him and he’s done singing parodies. Which I hope is not case.
Last week, Kim Kardashian tainted an innocent champagne by glass by placing it on her enormous butt. This week, a golden Weird Al Yankovic decided to a strike a twisted pose with one between his toes for GQ. All I want to know is what did champagne glasses do these people that they feel they can violate them like that.
With New Year’s Eve coming up in a month and a half, let’s try to remember this poor flutes when raise a glass at 12m. Let’s honor the sacrifice they made for art.
Gilbert Gottfried Tweeted this photo of Weird Al Yankovic and him in a sweet embrace, and I have to wonder if they have something to tell us? Normally, I would say it is just the two funny men having some fun, but Gilbert hinted to something more in the caption. He wrote, “My account was hacked, exposing my sexy pictures with Weird Al Yankovic. @alyankovic”. About time we started getting some male action in this Fappening scandal, and this is a great start!
As if I needed another reason to love my favorite new show of the year, they give yet another one. First, they created a musical fairytale that we can all enjoy. Then the ABC show cast John Stamos as Galavant’s rival. And now today, Joshua Sassee, who plays the lead role, Tweeted the above photo and said, “You try working with weird Al Yankovic and keep a straight face. I dare you. @alyankovic #Galavant”
That’s right, Weird Al Yankovic follows up his first #1 album and Emmy performance, by playing a Monk on the show according to klikkonthis. That is some heavenly news! Amen!
I seriously can’t wait for you to see the show that I’ve been singing the praises about since I first saw it. It truly is something to sing about.
UPDATE: Karen David, who plays Princess Isabella, gave this update on Facebook, “4:40am. The eyelids are heavy…never thought I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to being in a confessional booth…with the very lovely, Weird Al Yankovic!” Can you imagine being trapped in a confessional with the Schlock Rocker? Actually I can, and I am so jealous of David.

Let’s be real, we all have a story about meeting a celebrity or being in the same place as one or maybe even knowing someone who knows someone famous. Well, Weird Al Yankovic not only recorded a song about it on Mandatory Fun that’s out now, but he also made video for the tune as well. How many of those examples can you relate to from that song?
So you want to know my Lame Claim to Fame? One time, I was in the green room at The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Weird Al Yankovic was there too. He was a guest on the show, and I was there to take my really good friend, who is a HUGE fan, to see him on the late night talk show. I ran late, so we were stuck in the green room. Did we talk to him? Sadly, no because you can’t do that during a lame claim to fame. Maybe next time, for my friend’s sake.
And my other Weird Al lame claim to fame story, is Seth Green stood behind me on the line to get food during Yankovic’s concert at The Greek. I was totally oblivious to it, until my friend (the HUGE fan) told me about it after the fact.
Now when it comes Mandatory Fun as an entire album, it truly is mandatory fun! My favorite song off of the CD is Now That’s What I Call Polka which is a megamix of him singing hits like Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball, Psy’s Gangnam Style, Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe, Daft Punk’s Lucky and LMFAo’s I’m Sexy and I Know It, Polka style. I’ve been waiting all week for the video and it just didn’t happened. He also didn’t release a music video for his version of Imagine Dragon’s Radioactive called Inactive. Oh well, at least we got to see Tacky (Pharrell’s Happy), Foil (Lorde’s Royal), Handy (Iggy Azalea’s Fancy), The Sports Song, First World Problems (which is a total classic), Mission Statement and Lame Claim to Fame. If you notice, I didn’t include Word Crimes (Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines) on that list. That’s because I was really insulted by that song. I knows I have those grammar issues, I just don’t have to hear about it in a song. But other than that, you like totally want to add Mandatory Fun to your collection because it is so much fun to listen to when you’re out and about looking for a lame claim to fame.
Weird Al Yankovic is releasing his 14th studio album tomorrow. To promote Mandatory Fun he’s releasing a music video a day for the next 8 days from the album. Today is day one, and he’s starting the ball rolling with his parody of Pharrell William’s Happy. The first song off the record is called Tacky and he got some tacky friends like Jack Black and Eric Stonestreet to help him out. As fun as it is to see Jack Black Twerk, I would’ve preferred watching Weird Al the whole time because his moves were just hypnotizing. Exactly like Pharrell’s hat! On that note where what that hat in this video? That was a totally missed opportunity.
On July 15th, Weird Al Yankovic is releasing his 14th album and today they released the tracklisting for Mandatory Fun. At this point, we don’t know what songs he is parodying on the CD that is available for preorder now. But it appears that he won’t be doing the one I was hoping he’d do. I was really wishing he was going to record his version of Psy’s Gangnam Style as Polka Style. Could you imagine the video he would’ve done for it?
On that note, starting on July 14th, he will be releasing a music video a day for 8 days from Mandatory Fun. And it will be mandatory fun to watch them all.
Below are the songs from the album and I’m thinking Word Crimes might be Blurred Lines. Have you been able to decipher what other tunes he is giving his own twist to on it?

5 – Word Crimes
