A Death Becomes Her reunion!!!
April 13th, 2011 under Goldie Hawn, Mamma Mia. [ Comments: none ]

Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep were reunited at the Good Housekeeping’s Annual Shine On Awards Honor Remarkable Women and even though they were enemies in Death Becomes Her they look like the best of friends now! Can you believe that movie came out 18 years ago because the 65 year old Goldie and 61 year old Meryl look as beautiful now as they looked when they made that film. Maybe the Oscar winners have been taking that potion???
BTW in case you forgot how much fun that movie is, here is the trailer to remind you!!!

BTWF roles: Christine Baranski on Flipper
January 22nd, 2010 under Before They Were Famous, Mamma Mia. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 2:30in

Before Christina Baranski was best friends with Cybill, she was friends with Flipper. Even back in 1967 the 14 year old has the same facial expressions she uses today.
BTW am I the only one who didn’t know she was a child actress before this?

Mamma Mia! the fun movie of the summer is finally out on DVD today and it includes the feature to sing along with the songs! I don’t know about you, but I already know all the words to their songs! But how much fun is it to sing along with Meryl Streep and Colin Firth as they bolt out Abba tunes!
I so want the Mamma Mia! DVD…hint hint!

Meryl Streep lost out on King Kong for being too ugly?
December 15th, 2008 under Mamma Mia. [ Comments: 7 ]

(photo from WireImage)
Meryl Streep did not get the lead role in the 1976 version of King Kong because the director said she was too ugly according to IOL. The Italian director Dino de Laurentis not only made the mistake of not hiring the future multi-award winner, but for thinking she wasn't as smart as she looks.
Streep says, "He said to his son, who organised the meeting, "She's ugly. Why did you bring me this thing.'

"He didn't realise I'd just graduated and studied Italian 105."

"When I replied in Italian, he looked like he had been shot."

I think Meryl did OK for herself and losing out on the role didn't effect her career.
Just in case you forgot or wondering who got the role, that was Jessica Lange.

The first poster for Mamma Mia
January 10th, 2008 under Mamma Mia. [ Comments: 1 ]

I have grown to like Meryl Streep, but man they totally photoshopped in her that poster. We have all seen the Mamma Mia trailer and they photoshopped at least 20 years off of her in this poster.

Yet another movie to look forward to this summer. Although I have to admit it is going to be strange to see Pierce Brosnan and Meryl Streep doing a Musical like Mamma Mia!

August 30th, 2007 under Mamma Mia. [ Comments: none ]

You know it is funny I wondered how this play would translate on to the big screen and after seeing this picture of Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan I can't wait for Mamma Mia. This picture captures what I thought this scene would like in the real world!!!
Mamma Mia is coming out July 18, 2008.
