Olivia Newton-John hopelessy devoted to 2 Grease episodes
January 2nd, 2007 under Olivia Newton-John, TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

It was announced today during a press call about the upcoming NBC reality show that film star Olivia Newton-John had agreed to appear on the first two episodes of the show. Also during the call, director Kathleen Marshall revealed that the Broadway production will be the first to use a blend of material from the film and the stage show including the first live performance of songs like "You’re The One That I Want" and "Hopelessly Devoted." The script she stated, will likely be closer to the Broadway script, than the film script. It’s hoped that other Grease alumni will make appearances throughout the show’s run as audience members or to reminisce about their times in the show. "You’re the One That I Want," produced by David Ian, will center on the search for stars on an upcoming Broadway revival of Grease, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall. After the first two hour-and-a-half-long episodes air on NBC on January 7th and 14th, "You’re the One That I Want" will be seen weekly on that channel on Sunday nights in hour installments (check local listings). Bravo will re-air the episodes on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, Wednesdays at 12 AM and Thursdays at 11 PM (check local listings). In addition, a number of Grease stars – from the original stage production, the last Broadway revival, the film version and its sequel Grease 2 – will make guest appearances on the reality show. The line-up includes Barry Bostwick (original Danny Zuko on Broadway), Jeff Conaway (Danny replacement in the original run and Kenickie in the film), Marilu Henner (Marty replacement in original run), Lucy Lawless (Rizzo replacement in Broadway revival), and Adrian Zmed (Danny replacement in original run and revival, and Johnny in Grease 2). Jai Rodriguez ("Queer Eye…," Rent, Zanna Don’t) and Tony Award-winner Marissa Jaret Winokur (Hairspray) will also appear as guests. "You’re the One That I Want," will be, as previously announced, co-hosted by "Access Hollywood"’s co-anchor Billy Bush and West End theatre and British TV star Denise Van Outen (Chicago, Tell Me on a Sunday). The new production of Grease will open on Broadway in June 2007 and will be directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award-winner Marshall (The Pajama Game). Paul Nicholas and David Ian Associates, Nederlander Presentations and Phoenix Productions will produce. Jim Jacobs, the co-creator of Grease, along with Marshall and renowned theatre producer David Ian are set as judges on "You’re the One That We Want."

Mark your calendars Marguerite Perrin back on Trading Spouses!!!
December 20th, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: 3 ]

Marguerite Perrin, the self-proclaimed “God Warrior,” made famous last season by her infamous rant against the “dark side” and major meltdown in front of the cameras returns to TRADING SPOUSES: MEET YOUR NEW MOMMY on Friday, Jan. 19 and Friday, Jan. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Perrin first appeared on TRADING SPOUSES so she could use the $50,000 prize money for gastric bypass surgery. She’s since had the surgery and lost 94 lbs! While she currently holds a smaller build, Perrin is no less the big personality previously seen on the show, and is just as sassy, ready to tell it like it is, and as effervescent as ever! This special two-part episode took Perrin to the home of Abasi Malone and LaToya Brown in St. Petersburg, FL. Their 7 year old daughter Shachamaah is home- schooled by LaToya, while Abasi drives a taxi and has a newspaper route. The Malone-Brown’s are very environmentally conscious, with both a recycled rain barrel and compost pile in their yard. Abasi also hosts a political talk show that addresses issues within the African American community. Marguerite and Abasi quickly learn how to push each others buttons and it doesn’t take long before they clash over their views on race, politics, and social injustice. Perrin still lives in Ponchatoula, LA with husband Barry, daughters Ashley and Brooke and granddaughter Abigail. They believe in good old southern hospitality, and enjoy hosting parties and get-togethers with friends and family. The family continues to run a thriving dance studio that instructs ballet, jazz, and hip-hop.

Trading Spouses

OMG! She was so much fun the first time she was on the show, I can’t wait to see what she is like this time! I just wish they put her in a Scientologist’s house…how fun would that be!!!

Tyra Banks to keep talking for two more years
December 18th, 2006 under TV Reality. [ Comments: none ]

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD) has effectively renewed Telepictures Productions’ syndicated The Tyra Banks Show for two additional seasons. Currently in its second season, Tyra has been renewed through the end of the 2008-09 on Fox-owned stations in 22 markets, including WNYW New York, KTTV Los Angeles and WPWR Chicago. “Tyra has shown steady growth over its first 18 months on the air and has broadened its demographic appeal, especially in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos,” said WBDTD President Ken Werner. “Fox, Sinclair and other Tyra stations have remarked on how this series has truly blossomed on the air.” “We are obviously thrilled with Tyra, which is quite evident by our giving the series a two season vote of confidence,” said Jack Abernethy, CEO of Fox Television Stations.“We believe this show has quickly become a franchise and will continue to grow into a true powerhouse for years to come.” The renewal comes despite a 12% year-to-year drop in household ratings. It is averaging a 1.4 AA rating season season-to-date in Nielsen national syndication rankings, down from a 1.6 a year ago. Warner Bros. blames the decline on a loss of some double runs this season.

I wonder what other stupid things she is going to dress as for the next few sweeps…not.
