Mehcad Brooks has been acting for almost 15 years now and he has had several starring roles; yet people can’t seem to say his first name correctly. So Supergirl‘s Jimmy Olsen shot a PSA explaining how to properly say Mehcad. It is very simple, it is Ma-cod. Now that you know how to say Mehcad, can someone tell me how to say his last name?
BTW watch him tonight at 8p on CBS in all new episode of the super superhero show.
UPDATE: He also needs to do a PSA for people like me who can say his first name, but can’t spell it.
Helen Slater, who was the big screen Supergirl, is playing her mom on the CBS drama, and now the actress who played the role on Smallville is also joining the show. Laura Vandervoot Tweeted, “Thrilled to be announcing I’ll be recurring as #Indigo on @supergirlcbs So proud of the cast & this series. #Honored”
I love that Supergirl, like Smallville, is casting people who starred in previous versions of Superman and Supergirl. Dean Cain, who played Clark Kent on Lois & Clark, plays her dad. I can’t wait until Tom Welling finds a place on the show. Hopefully he’ll reprise his role since we have yet to meet him. How super would that be?
The first trailer is out for Batman v Superman, and I am like all that hype for that? It looks so super cheesy, even cheesier than when George Clooney played the Dark Knight. But I am not the audience for this movie, so don’t listen to my opinion. While I won’t be there on March 25th, I am sure millions and millions of people will be there to see this film.
Oh and I am not mentioning Wonder Woman because she is not even worth a mention.
Warner Bros released the first real tease for Batman v Superman and I want to know when they became villains? I miss the good old days when Superheroes were heroes. Guess those days are over and her comes the dark destructive versions of the caped crusaders we used to know.
Either that or it is the S&M version of them. Seriously, Batman is wearing a black leather mask, he’s chained up, so he’s basically Superman’s submissive bitch. Now I talked myself into wanting to go see the movie when it comes out on March 25th. Are you as excited as I am for it?
Some say that Superman 3 was a horror to watch, so One Perfect Shot turned it into a horror movie. Now it is a film that people like me want to see ASAP! Actually, I really want to see the third Superman movie as is to see if it is really that bad.
While almost every new show this season found that their second episode was not as good as their pilot, Supergirl‘s is actually so much better.
Kara (Melissa Benoist) is ready to be Supergirl, but tonight at 8p on CBS she finds out very quickly she isn’t. When there is a massive fire threatening an oil tanker, she blows on the flames but it only makes it worse. She decides to move the tanker, but it breaks apart and oil spills into the water. Now, everyone in National City hates her including her boss who wrote an article bad mouthing the superhero. When Kara asks Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) what advice she would have Supergirl, she says she would tell her to start out small and work her way up.
Taking that piece of knowledge to heart, she asks Wynn (Jeremy Jordan) and Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) to help her out. They listen to the scanners and she uses her superpowers on individuals as compared to planes and such.
All of this is helping her clean up her image and now Cat wants an interview with her. So much so, the newspaper honcho tells Jimmy to make it happen or he can go back to The Daily Planet. Will Kara do the interview and risk her boss finding out who she is?
To make matters even more complicated the Department of Extra-Normal Operations is testing her abilities out to see if she is ready for the job.
All of this leads to Supergirl meeting her Aunt Astra (Laura Benanti) and let’s just say it isn’t a happy family reunion. What happens when they meet? All I will say is you don’t want to miss it.
And this is only a few elements of the things that happen in this jam packed episode. It honestly feels like you are watching a 2 hour movie, in a hour. Even though that is a lot to get in the short amount of time, they make it work. It truly is an enjoyable hour of television that the whole family can watch together.
I think the reason why Supergirl connects with the audience the way that it does, is because it made with a lot of heart. There is also a genuine innocence to it and these days that is missing from a lot of shows. Those are just two of the many elements that make this show so super!
Tonight at 8:30p on CBS, Supergirl takes flight and you don’t want to miss this superhero drama.
Twenty four years ago, 12 year old Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) planet was destroyed. Before Krypton blew up, her mother sent her to Earth to protect her baby cousin, Kal-El. Only problem was that her pod got stuck in time and she didn’t reach Earth for two decades. By then, Superman grew up and had already revealed himself. When she finally arrives on Earth, Kal-El finds a family to raise her. Unlike the Kents, the Danvers already have a daughter and Alex (Chyler Leigh) becomes her protective big sister.
It has been 12 years since she landed, and now the 24 year old is working for National City’s newspaper as an assistant to its boss Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). She leads a pretty ordinary life until her sister’s plane runs into trouble and it looks like it is going to crash. Kara can’t let that happen, so she does what she was destined to do and prevents the plane from crashing. Now, that she has got a taste, she can’t stop fighting crime along with the assistance of her co-worker Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan). She will also get some help from the new photographer at the newspaper, Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), but he likes to go buy James now.
Alex never wanted Kara to reveal herself because there are Earthlings and Aliens who want her dead. Even though, she has just been doing this Supergirl thing for a short time, the threats towards her life have already started.
How she will deal with all of that and still keep National City safe? We will just have to tune in every week to find out.
Glee might not have appreciated Melissa Benoist’s talent, but Supergirl does and they are using it. She brings such a sweetness and innocence to the role that you just can’t help but to fall in love with her at first sight. Along with those qualities, there is a toughness to her that makes you believe that she can be both Kara and Supergirl. While she is clearly the star, the casting of everyone else meshes perfectly with her to create a super cast. Including the two actors who play her Earth parents, it’s nice surprise I am sure you will appreciate. Along with everything else about the show from Greg Berlanti (Everwood, Flash and Arrow) and Ali Adler (Chuck, Glee and No Ordinary Family).
We are just over a month away (October 26th) from the debut of Supergirl on CBS and turns out humans aren’t the only one who can’t wait for this show to fly on to our televisions already.
Executive Producer Ali Adler brought her sweet little puppy to the set and the show’s star, Melissa Benoist, held the precious little pooch. As soon as she picked up Sunny Sunshine, the dog’s tail started wagging faster than Supergirl can fly. Look at that thing go.
Seriously, if this arfdorable video doesn’t get your tails wagging, then you are just a Lex Luthor. How can you not be full of glee after watching this?
So kids before we could Google everything we needed, we used a thing a called the Yellow Pages to locate the services we needed. It was not an interesting read, but you got what you needed from it. Glamour magazine decided to sex things for the archaic book, and asked Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer to read from it. And the two movie heroes made it sound a lot hotter than it has ever sounded before. So hot that the men from The Man from UNCLE had me screaming uncle!
Someone needs to bring the Yellow Pages back and they need to bring it back now. Until then, I will just have my cell phone set to vibrate and call it a lot.
