More Rumors

hey guys. once again i think its time to address these rumors thats been going on about me. there are 3 main ones that has been floating around and i want to address them personally so you guys can know the truth

1.) i turned down a movie role for 3 million dollars because of a nude scene and i wasnt the person getting nude. nothing about that is true. i want to do my album. and my fans have waited so patiently for me to put out an album and i appreciate everyone of you, thats why im focused on putting out my first project. and yes i will continue to still do movies.

2.) all of the american idol stuff and burger king comments. i never said anything about if i was better at burger king i would not be there either. and yes i did say american idol was a stepping stone. which it is! i didnt mean it in a bad way. and as i said in my previous interviews american idol is a stepping stone because had it not been for them no one would of knew of a jennifer hudson to call to audition for dreamgirls! its like everything i say referring to the show gets twisted around and makes me look like im being arrogant and a "diva", since alot of people seems to have that opinion about me and that is not me at all. im not bothered by these rumors because im use to it but i do read the boards and i see my fans are upset by some of the negative rumors concerning me and that is what hurts me the most is to see people who care about me being impacted by all of this.

3.) the soul train awards show and me trying to sabotoge it by not showing up. only thing i can say to this is that i was there! and i appreciate being honored there just as much as i appreciated being honored at the all the award shows i attended. but once again im just writing this for my fans, supporters, and friends who want to know the truth. i am a person with feelings and although i have been warned that things like this would happen to me. and since i am new to this let me be the first to tell you that i have sat back not to long ago just like you guys .I read things about my favorite artist and let me tell you since im experiencing this first hand you guys cant believe everything you read because its not true. o one more thing. im grateful for all my blessings and i thank God for it everyday and no amount of fame will ever go to my head and make me think that im better than anyone because we are all equal. and as quickly as God gave everything he has given me he can take it away!

The Dreamgirls CD breaks its own record
February 19th, 2007 under Dreamgirls. [ Comments: none ]

Sony’s "Dreamgirls" soundtrack held onto No. 1 for a second week, but managed to again break the record for lowest-selling chart-topper. Disc sold 60,000 copies in the week ended Sunday, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Last week, the disc secured the top slot with sales of 66,000. Next week, a bump related to the pic’s three Golden Globes wins should push its total back up, but new competition will likely knock the disc off the top perch. Meanwhile, "B’Day" by "Dreamgirls" star Beyonce returned to the top 10, climbing five slots to No. 6 on sales of 41,000. Sales, at 17.5 million units this year, are down 16% compared to 2006.

It is like yay we are number one again, but boo we are the lowest selling number one in history again.

Who didn’t see this coming a mile away???

Beyoncé Knowles’ father Mathew is furious the superstar was overlooked at the Golden Globe Awards, accusing the film industry of discriminating against blacks. The singer-turned-actress failed to pick up a single nomination for her role in Dreamgirls, and – despite Golden Globe wins for African-Americans Forest Whitaker, Eddie Murphy, Prince, Jennifer Hudson and the movie itself – Knowles blames his daughter’s omission on racism. He told reporters after the ceremony on Monday, "Today is MLK’s (Martin Luther King’s) birthday and it saddens me to say that things have not changed for blacks. Working class blacks and blacks in Hollywood are still being discriminated against. We still have a long way to go."

Seriously? OMG! My friend and I were joking last week how he would say Hollywood is racist because she did not get an Oscar nom even though Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Dreamgirls will. It is not racism, she just wasn’t good enough.

Dreamgirls Broadway bound again?
February 19th, 2007 under Dreamgirls. [ Comments: 1 ]

"Dreamgirls," which recently received eight Academy Award nominations excluding one for Best Picture, may be headed back to the Broadway stage. Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger told the New York Post that John Breglio — the lawyer who oversees the estate of original Dreamgirls director-choreographer Michael Bennett — will hold a meeting next month to discuss a Broadway revival of the 1981 musical. "We’re going to figure out how to do this," Krieger told the New York daily. "We think it’s time. All is good." In a written statement issued Jan. 25 Breglio said, "There’s a lot of interest in bringing Dreamgirls back to Broadway. The owners of the musical decided a year ago not to make any decision about a Broadway revival until after the film was released. As for my producing a new production of Dreamgirls, for the time being my focus is on A Chorus Line. Whether or not I want to jump into another project this soon is something I need more time to consider."

Who didn’t see that coming? I am just so over the trend show-movie-show or movie-show-movie…make it stop please!

Which former Idol contestant is jealous of Jennifer Hudson
February 19th, 2007 under American Idol 1-5, Dreamgirls. [ Comments: none ]

CLAY AIKEN made an appearance on "Good Morning America" Thursday to promote UNICEF's public awareness campaign for Child Survival 2007, and the "American Idol" runner-up also revealed which former contestant gets his vote! "I'm jealous," Clay lightheartedly replied when asked about JENNIFER HUDSON. "There was a point I was considered the most successful 'Idol' loser, but now I'm not anymore. I saw the movie ['Dreamgirls'] and she deserves the Academy Award," he added. "Now I'm going to be in second place again." The singing sensation wants to use his fame to help others, and is a dedicated advocate for children's causes, such as UNICEF's mission to provide health, education, equality and protection for children across the globe. "We want to get people involved," Clay said of his role with the organization.

At least he is honest about it, unlike Fantasia!

Jennifer Hudson bashes Idol, praises Beyonce
February 19th, 2007 under Dreamgirls. [ Comments: none ]

Jennifer Hudson has won Golden Globe and SAG awards – and is up for an Oscar – for her role in Dreamgirls – despite what she describes as an abusive experience on American Idol. "On American Idol, you go through this mental thing; you’ve got to get yourself back together. You’ve been abused, misled and brainwashed to believe whatever they want you to think," Hudson, 25, tells the new issue of Essence. "You become a character – I became the girl in the turkey wrapping." (On one episode, she wore an unflattering outfit that earned that label.) "I just knew I had to sing my way out of it. I don’t believe in looking back, and I didn’t look back." Hudson also dismisses rumors that there was tension on the Dreamgirls set between herself and costar Beyoncé Knowles. "We clicked from day one," she says. She says she, Knowles and their fellow Dreamgirl Anika Noni Rose bonded over the fact that they’re all Virgos, and all have a mole in the same spot on the left side of their necks. "It’s amazing to me that God took three different women from three different walks of life and created the Dreamgirls," Hudson says. "We were meant to be together. When you look at us, you see it’s all connected. I’m loving Beyoncé."

How long do you think it will take for her to say she was misquoted and that she loved her experience on American Idol. Seriously if she wasn’t on the show she be still be at home doing some lame a$$ job and not be an Award winning actress nominated for an Oscar.

Beyonce’ might go without any Oscar nom?
January 2nd, 2007 under Beyonce, Dreamgirls, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

You can not only forget about Beyonce Knowles winning an Oscar for best actress this year. Now it looks like Beyonce won’t win as a songwriter either — for "Listen," one of the original new tunes added to the original Broadway score. Officially, she’s listed as one of the song’s four writers, but the motion-picture academy only permits three names — max — as a credit. To see the specific language of its Rule 16 — CLICK HERE! The Oscars’ songwriting branch has decided to qualify Henry Krieger, Anne Preven and Scott Cutler. No explanation is given for why Beyonce is excluded over the others. Is this just one of those cases of where the singer insisted upon having her name added to credits as part of her performance deal? Beyonce says "No!" In media interviews, she’s often said that she was truly involved in its songwriting. Apparently, not to the extent as her three collaborators.

G-d I would hate to be her people and the movie people right now because you know her dad is ripping them a new one.

Is Beyonce’s dad trying to ruin Jennifer Hudson’s career because she didn’t sign with him?
December 15th, 2006 under Beyonce, Dreamgirls. [ Comments: none ]

The supposed rift between Beyoncé Knowles and her Dreamgirls costar, Jennifer Hudson, may have been greatly exaggerated. Rumors have been swirling that Beyoncé is miffed because Hudson is the movie’s obvious breakout star for her role as powerhouse vocalist Effie White. But sources told me today that Beyoncé has always known Effie was a showier role than Beyoncé’s own soft-spoken Deena Jones. "Beyoncé is a confident girl," a pal tells me. "She doesn’t get jealous of people." So, where did these rumors get started? It sounds like Beyoncé’s father, Matthew Knowles, may be to blame. I’m told things soured between the Knowles family and Ms. Hudson because Daddy Knowles tried unsuccessfully to woo the former American Idol contestant as a client to his Houston-based Music World Entertainment management company. "He tried to sign her halfway through production of Dreamgirls because he wanted to be her manager," my source says, "but Jennifer turned him down. That’s when things really went south." Although Hudson already had management during this time, a source tells me Matthew has recently told some people he’s actually been managing her "for a while now." "He walks around saying he’s her manager, and everyone is like, ‘No, you’re not,’ " a source says. In other words, it doesn’t look like Beyoncé has a problem with Hudson getting so much of the Dreamgirls attention. It looks like it’s Daddy’s bruised ego that’s causing the ruckus. I’m told that Daddy was so insulted by her refusal to sign with him that he demanded the movie be re-edited to lessen Hudson’s screen time and boost Beyoncé’s. He argued that his daughter was being shortchanged but was rebuffed by the studio and the filmmakers. In one meeting with director Bill Condon, I’m told, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina, went into a "tirade" about how he ruined the movie for her daughter. "It was supposed to be her Oscar role," Tina hissed, according to a source. Matthew and Tina Knowles did not return calls by deadline. As for Beyoncé and Hudson, a source close to Dreamgirls says they get along just fine. "It’s the dad," the source said. "He’s just like Curtis, Jamie Foxx’s character in Dreamgirls." All the drama aside, today was a good day to be a Dreamgirl. The movie nabbed five Golden Globes nominations. Two for Beyoncé, one apiece for Hudson and Eddie Murphy and another for Best Picture in the musical or comedy category.

Planet Gossip

Is it just me or does that sound like something he would do?

At least Fantasia admits she is jealous of Jennifer Hudson’s Dreamgirls role
December 7th, 2006 under American Idol 1-5, Dreamgirls. [ Comments: none ]

AMERICAN IDOL winner FANTASIA BARRINO was devastated when fellow talent show contestant JENNIFER HUDSON beat her to the part of EFFIE WHITE in the forthcoming DREAMGIRLS movie. Barrino, who beat Hudson in the 2004 season of the televised music contest, auditioned for the role of the troubled sixties singer, but lost out to Hudson. She says, "I was a little hurt. I remember calling Jennifer. She picked up the phone and I said, ‘Heifer, you took my part.’"

Contact Music

I wonder if Jennifer Hudson called Fantasia after she won American Idol and called her to say heifer, you took my title? Thank G-d Hudson got the role because after seeing Fantasia in her own biopic on Lifetime, she never would have been able to handle it.

Jennifer Hudson responds to the Dallas Voice article

Current mood: depressed

It should be a happy day because I heard that the National Board of Review picked me as one of the BreakThru Actresses of the Year.  What an honor.  I was so thrilled when I heard.  But it turned into a sad day and I can’t understand why or how this happened.  When you are up, people try to tear you down.  Some paper is saying that I have a problem with gay people.  Its just mean and wrong.  My feelings are so hurt and I can’t sleep.  Anybody that knows me, knows that just ain’t true.  Its makes me so mad that people can twist your words and say anything they want. And, there’s nothing I can do about it, except to say,
please don’t believe everything you read.

I am glad she responded so quickly and so well before too much damage could be done.
